Just okay. I love food and I love a good steak. I always have thought of Ruth Chris as a good standby when traveling for a nice meal. Beats going to an Oliver Garden! However this one was just so/so. I have been to some of their restaurants that have rivaled any top NY hot spot. This time however I just left satisfied, not impressed. If steaks are the thing you're known for, they must be amazing everytime!

Absolutely Disappointing Food and Service. In all fairness, we went to Ruth's Chris with above average expectations for a business dinner after having eaten in other Ruth's Chris Steak House Restaurants before. Our experience with the food and the service were completely disappointing. The steaks were alright, but we came for beef and that is what this place is known for. When I say alright, I mean for a $20-25 steak joint where you are dining casually, like in a chain-restaurant like Outback. None of our steaks were cooked correctly and the beef that they are serving is not tender and juicy. The service was absolutely and positively inattentive to even the most basic of our needs, like water, wine and bringing all the food to the table at the same time. I am trying to be reasonable, but each time food was brought to us, the waiter forgot someone's food and we had to wait for 3-4 minutes to begin each course. Wine service was slow and the vintage was wrong on the bottle that was actually served, not a huge deal, but you expect more when you come to a place like this. And hey let's be honest, there are differences in vintages and the bottles at Ruth's are not inexpensive. Overall, a very negative experience. On a high point the manager was receptive to our feedback and "gave us free dessert." So, all in all, not impressive food to say the least, over-priced and don't even get me started on the service. If you want to impress a guest or just have a good solid meal try some other steak house.

average. My boyfriend took me to the Ruth's in Park City, very nice ambiance.

Started off with the host ignoring us even though we had a reservation, we stood and waited for 10 minutes before getting attention and to be seated.

Waitress' attempt to be nice turned out to be snooty. I ordered a pomegranate lemonade, she came back saying that they were out of pomegranate and told me that she got me a strawberry one instead, which I didn't even want. If I'm paying $5.50 for a lemonade, I would rather choose the one I want, thank you very much.

Ahi tuna appetizer and crabtini were excellent, their home baked bread melts in your mouth.

We did the summer special for 89 dollars that included salad, entree, sides, and dessert.

Steak was good, very flavorful and tender.

crab cake and chicken were mediocre for a high class restaurant.

Apple tart for dessert was also mediocre

took about 2 hours for dinner and we saw our server about 3 times in 40 minute increments.

Overall an average experience. Mediocre food with snooty service. Probably would not go back.

Good Steak in SLC. I have been to the other fancy steak houses in SLC, namely Flemings and Spencer's, and Ruth's Chris is the best of the three. The steaks my wife and I got were amazing, among the best I have ever eaten. The entree's were average- mashed potatoes are hard to mess up! The price was decent for a high dollar steak house. It was cheaper than the cheesecake factory and 10 x better.

Great if you like bland, overpriced, high quality food,. The good part? Best halibut I've ever had. Seasoning was good, but the halibut itself was definitely high quality. Juicy and fresh. The service was 'professional', but certainly not overly friendly. The down side? Everyone was a tad on the snooty side, as were most of the guests. I will never go there again, and not because it was too expensive (although it was for what we got), but because I found the food boring and bland. I like my restaurant experience to be a flavorful experience, and this was not that. For $185 for 2 people, I want to be saying "wow, this is amazing", and I didn't do that (except with the halibut I admit). My husband's ginormous rib eye was completely lacking in the tenderloin section (which is by far the best part). It only had a layer of fat around the sirloin part of it. It was good, but bland, and not particularly tender. Costco's rib eyes are better in my opinion. I was expecting more from the spinach too, but it tasted like plain ole' spinach like I steam at home (only much more expensive). I've had some amazing restaurant spinach, and this was not that. My husband did recommend the banana dessert. The coffee was weak, and was brought out a good 5 minutes after my husband's dessert (too long to wait in my opinion), with no apology.

Excellent Food, Excellent Service. Our server started out a little cold, but he finally warmed up midway through the meal. We encountered a rough patch when one of our steaks came out rare (at best) when we ordered it medium. Our server took it away and brought out a whole new steak, again cooked rare (it looked more like seared Ahi Tuna than it did steak). We were very disappointed by this time, and so he again took it back and brought it out a few minutes later cooked correctly and it ended up being a great steak. The manager came over shortly after and was very apologetic and comp'd the steak, along with a round of desserts for the whole table. So, a less-than-stellar start to the evening ended well and we really appreciated that they went above and beyond just comping us the steak. I will definitely be back!

Best Food I've Ever Had in SLC. I've lived all over the country in many major metropolitan areas and eaten at countless high-end restaurants. Ruth's Chris in SLC was perfection. While I won't say it's the best steak I have ever had, I will say that I've never had one better. It was absolutely perfect. Their chop salad with the lemon basil dressing was the best salad I've ever had. Even the bread was addicting. We ordered the lyonnaise potatoes and my husband ordered onion rings. Everything was fantastic. Service was impeccable. We plan on moving to SLC in the next 6 months and plan on going there at least once a month. I don't think we could possibly tire of it. Finally, SLC has a good place to get a steak!

Very Uptown with Prices to Match. This really is a good place to get a decent steak, very nice atmosphere, and a killer wine list. However, be prepared to pay dearly for it. Each aspect of your meal comes a la cart. Servings are large, and priced accordingly. Unless you're really hungry, sharing the sides is recommended. We didn't have any bad food or bad service, but be aware that unless you tell them otherwise, the servers will fill your water glass with their special bottled water, and charge you for it. If you want regular water, you must tell them...and they won't ask. They were very gracious about splitting the bill for us (many upscale restaurants won't). We had a nice time, and are still not sure the whole experience was worth what we paid for it. But at least it wasn't bad.

Worth every penny!. This was our first visit to Ruth's Chris. The food was phenomenal! The Ahi Tuna appetizer melted in your mouth and every single thing we tried was absolutely wonderful. Our ribeye steaks were cooked to perfection not to mention the "chocolate explosion" dessert. I liked the fact that everything is a la carte. The service was outstanding.

A favorite for happy hour.... The bartenders are so charming and extremely nice. Actually, the entire staff is nice and welcoming. Happy hour is great here. One of the few bars in Salt Lake that carry Ciroc vodka - my hands down favorite. I can eat an entire basket of their seasoned potato chips in one sitting. Oh,and try the Veal Osso Buco Ravioli. It's fantastic!
