you'll want tor bring your friends!.
Every time I take someone to this store they CAN'T WAIT to bring another person. First timers: budget out at LEAST an hour or two...or three. :) I've been in 20+ times and I still see new things every time (not because they get so much new stuff, but because there is JUST THAT MUCH INVENTORY!) If you make friends with the workers, they seem to cut you a better deal. The owner seems to love to make a deal. The more you spend, the better deal he'll make. I love our kitchen table from the store, it was hard to pick out just one. It has held up so nice. They cleaned it up nice before it left the store. The store is not organized like most stores, but it is its own unique place. You certainly get to "hunt for your treasure" I didn't know I would be so interested in antiques and furniture, but this place has grown my appreciation with each visit. These are beautiful pieces. Save yourself the plane ticket to England and head down to this place.
Goods never delivered by Riley and Mr. Harris.
Purchased 12,000 worth of antiques from Scott Harris in 2005. Very pleasant to deal with and loves his work. He held the antiques for 3 years as shipping possibilities he suggested didn't pan out. Sent our own driver out but two 1500.00 barn doors weren't included (believe they had been resold as Antiques Road Show filmed their in the interim and PR went through the roof) Up shot is we were missing the two doors (but promised by Riley to make good on) as well as an 1100.00 yellow armoire. that never arrived. They refuse to return calls and pictures of other items (chair and butcher block) we took at purchase do not match the driver's pics. A very cool place and I believe very nice people but their attention to small buyers leaves a lot to be desired. I do have a name of an attorney we've retained in Salt Lake City who is aware of our complaint and might be of assistance to others in similar situations.
We are in CT so even small claims is difficult to pursue.
Scott, Riley, and Scott's daughter Michele?, show some class. Return your calls. Your store has great karma, spare the blemishes. Mallory Bagwell
Yes this place may be impressive. They have overwhelming amounts of antiques. However I had a terrible experience. I was in search for a specific chair. Given the fact I have been to Euro Treasures before, I knew I needed to go there to find a chair. After digging through a pile of dirty nasty chairs, I found the perfect one. When asking about a price, the owner claimed this beat up old chair (missing padding) was 300.00. The owner walked off. I knew the chair was not worth the price, given my research. I then asked another customer if they would pay this price, and they stated no as well.
The owner then was assisting another customer in our near presence. He countinued to bad mouth us to this other customer, telling her that he wasnt b.s us and that we were complaining about the price. That he was on the Antiques road show, and we didnt know what we were talking about.
needless to say, This was my second time in his store and will be my last. I refuse to spread the word of his business. There are other antique store in SLC who have more reasonable prices, and have better customer service.
