However waiting for a place to sit and/or in a long line makes it all worthwhile especially if it's for the best Mexican food in town. Our family loves the pork barbacoa burritos enchiladas style. Most of the time, we just order over the phone, pick it up with no lines to wait in, and take it home to eat with lots of room at our dining table. Definitely a weekly meal to be shared with family and friends.
Be careful if you eat here. I am normally a customer of Cafe RIo, but the last time I went it was very disappointing. I ordered a grilled chicken salad to go, and when I got home to eat it, half the chicken was undercooked!!! I left the management a message, but so far no response and it has been over a week. Please avoid this Cafe Rio unless you want to eat raw chicken.
The Salmon Tacos are the Best. My wife and I have tried several menu items and loved them all, but our favorites are the Salmon taco combinations. We are in our 30s and it's not easy to down a full salad or burrito (both are huge). The salmon tacos are just the right portions and the creamy tomotillo dressing is an amazing complement to the seasoned fish. We find we have to constraint ourselves from going too often because it is a good value when factoring taste and cost. It is often busy if you go in prime hours but we have never had to wait for a seat.
Delicious!. I LOVE Cafe Rio's shredded pork salads. They are reason enough to endure the other things that are not so great about Cafe Rio. For starters, they are always insanely busy. The best way to enjoy the food is to call ahead and order take-out. If you do decide to brave the long line, be prepared. When you get up to the area where you order, the staff really try to rush you through, and sometimes are difficult to understand well. I realize that they are keeping the line moving, but it gets a little bit frantic at times. The menus are confusing, too, if you've never been there before. There are one or two "main" menus posted at various places, but then there are several "smaller" menus that list options (like kids' meals and daily specials) that are not listed on the main menu. I went there three times before I noticed that they had kids meals, too.
