Fantastic Onion Rings.
This was my first time at Goodwood BBQ Co. We started with a half order of onion rings as per other reviewers that had recommended them. They were great. The breading was very light and the onions themselves still tasted like onions. The best I've ever had in Utah.
The cole slaw was very bland and didn't tasted like red and green cabbage with mayo and precious little vinegar. The potato salad was another thing though. The potato salad tasted great and again the best I've had in any BBQ joint in Utah.
The beans made an effort, but were on the sweet side with way too much of the intensely sweet BBQ sauce. The sauce is horrible and unless you want to pour nearly straight molasses on your dinner of BBQ meat, it should be avoided at all costs. All the meat came out with lots of BBQ sauce slathered over them, so I can't really give you a fair report on them because the sauce overpowers the meat so much I could not taste it. The brisket was juicy and tender though and I did see a good smoke ring on it, but again the sauce was as thick a cold honey smothering it beyond the tastebuds. The same can be said for the pulled pork and my wifes "burnt ends" sandwich. If you go here ask for the meal without the sauce. There is plenty of the sauce on the table if you still need to got that route.
Portions are very, very small. For a combo plate of two meats the pulled pork was about 1/2 an ice cream scoop and the brisket was three VERY small slices for $14.50.
CAUTION....boothe seating is very tight and better accomodates children more than adults. Think parent/teachers night while seated in your childs 3rd grade class desk. There are a few tables around, but tight booth seating accounts for 90% or your options.
Goodwood has potential and should be revisited by a chef from the BBQ belt on portion size and sauce. It's a step in the right direction and is far better than Q4U or Kaiser's which in my opinion are the worst examples of BBQ in the United State today(seriously)....but that's a whole other story.

Good food, but not a place to have a conversation.
We've been here a couple of times. The first experience was better than the second.
On the first visit, I had the brisket sandwich which was wonderful. The brisket practically melted in my mouth. My husband had a steak sandwich which was good but nothing special. Service was good.
On the second visit, I again ordered the brisket, but it wasn't quite as good as it was the first time. Still, it was tasty. Service on the second visit was quite slow - we must have waited a good 15-20 minutes after we were seated before anyone came to take our order. It probably took another 15 or 20 minutes to get our food. We ordered BBQ - it is already cooked - it shouldn't take that long to slice it and put it on a plate.
My main complaint about Goodwood is the noise level. It's all you can do to have a conversation with the person sitting across the table from you. Maybe they do this on purpose to get people to leave faster, but it makes the dining experience much less pleasant.
I don't want to downgrade to 3 stars, but I'm not sure it really rates a 4 either. If you like BBQ, it's worth a visit, but be prepared to wait and to deal with the noise. They do offer take-out and I think we might do that next time.

Noisy and crowded.
The food was ok. Our waitress was really good. The music was so loud it gave us headaches and we had to yell to have a conversation. We had a party of 11 and sat at the big table. Even my teenagers, one on the thin side and one average, couldn't move once they were seated. The table was too close to the benches. Most people are above average size. Apparently Goodwood didnt do their research when designing their seating. What was supposed to be a fun family get together turned out the opposite.

Good Food, Poor Service.
The BBQ at Good Wood is phenomenal. (Although if there was a Famous Dave's in Draper I would choose that first.)
That is why I continue returning. We order lunch in for my office everyday and the owners really enjoy their meat. I was absolutely stunned when I went in today, March 13, 08. I placed a togo order of about 20 meals and spent $250. When I asked for takeout silverware (I mean honestly, what else would I be eating my togo brisket with????) He, being the smiling employee told me that they CHARGE for take out silverware. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I JUST SPENT $250 AND I CANT EVEN HAVE A FORK. If I didnt have to order there for my bosses, I dont know that I would go back.
On another instance when I went in as a single diner for lunch I was completely ignored by my serve staff (which I went in at the end of the lunch hour-closer to 2) and my drink wasnt ever even refilled. Again, great food, poor service.
