Kimberly IS great!. Kimberly has been doing my hair for a few years now.. I first started going to her when she was at the Holliday location. She does a great job, every time we change the cut up she always makes sure I feel comfortable with styling and products before leaving her chair! I always love my color and change it up quite often. Not sure what's with the last complaints... guess you can't make everyone happy! But at least I am! :)
NOT what I would consider PROFESSIONAL!!!. Very Disappointed! I recieved color services from Kimberly and I have to say that if you want a professional color, do NOT see Kimberly. She is young and quite inexperienced when it comes to understanding how color works. I had to come back to her, to have her redo a weave she did and the second time was not any better than the first. She also charges way too much- for what she does . Sorry Kimberly but you really need to get some more education and experience before you charge such high prices. Your skills are just not there yet.
Gold Hair from Kimberly!!. I went into Moore since they advertise that they specialize in Ombre style! I really wanted to do a dark brown fading into a slightly lighter brown so it looked almost natural highlights. (see Khloe Kardashians hair) I scheduled the appointment with Kimberly and It started out fine. BUt when the product was finished i realized she put bleach in my hair not color so my hair was Gold! On top of that I could see the panic in her face when she saw it under the drier. She went and hurry and grabbed toner to put on it to fix it. before I could see it, She also said my hair was too short (its 4 inches past my shoulder) to have a good ombre so she had to do the color closer to my scalp. So not only was my hair gold but it just looks like i had a bad dye job that I let grow out! Its horrible. Not to mention it cause me $130 dollars for a color I hate. When I tried to tell her i didnt like it she said the toner would kick in and not be so gold (ya right, kick in?) I was so upset. A few weeks later when the damage from the beach had settled a little I went back in and made sure I had another stylist. I was put with Rachel. She was so sweet to me and she put a brown color on it and made me feel a little better. She was the only decent thing about this experience. If you go here, go to Rachel! Unfortunatly the brown faded after about 2 weeks and I am back to gold. I have an appt at a different salon tomorrow to hopefull fix it! I would go back to Moore, but not to Kimberly and not for something so complicated like Brown Ombre! it will take me months to fix what she ruined!
Jessica Griffith is the BEST!!. My recent experience getting my hair colored/cut and styled with Jessica was awesome!! She not only knows about hair but is a wonderful person to visit with and made me feel very welcomed! This was my first visit and believe me I will be back...Thanks, Jessica!!
Carrie Midnuel is a Rockstar. She has supercharged my relationship!! I walked into Moore Hair Design a total mess. It was amazing how beautiful the color turned out. I feel beautiful again. Thank you
Best, professional experience. I cannot say enough good things about Melinda. I've gone to her a couple of times now and she does such an amazing job on my hair. I am very picky about who colors/cuts my hair and this woman knows her stuff. Melinda is very knowledgeable and not afraid to tell you if a certain haircut won't work with your face shape. She then gives you an alternative that works great! I will keep coming back to Melinda as long as she is around because she is amazing at what she does and she is fun too! I cannot say thank you enough for the amazing job you do with my hair and for making my experience at the salon memorable and professional.
Love my haircut!.
I got my hair cut at Moore Hair Design a week or so ago.
I like to keep my hair style in a bob A line most of the time. I told the stylist just that and she just knew what to do and made it exactly how I wanted it. Carrie cut my hair. She's been doing hair for a long time and knows what she's doing.
When I got there, there were a couple people at the front desk and said I could take a seat on the sofas. They had me fill out a questionair about how I want my hair and other details about my hair so that I get what I need and want out of my hair cuts and colors. I felt like they were very friendly and I will definately go back and see Carrie again!
Expensive services, and cheap customer service skills.
Despite being the most expensive of all the salons I considered visiting in SLC, I decided to give Moore Hair Design a try hoping that I would at the very least receive high level customer service. No one was present at the reception desk as I walked in for my appointment. I would have patiently sat down, but I could not see the couches around the corner. About 3 minutes passed until someone asked with whom my appointment was and invited me to take a seat. Not a very warm and welcoming greeting experience. While waiting, I analyzed the salon floor plan, decoration... not a comfortable, relaxing nor elegant atmosphere. Also, the overall look of the hairstylists own hairs was not very exciting, nor elegant, nor inspiring. I had enough time to start regretting being there. My hairstylist came to greet me, confirmed my name and the service I was there for ( a service that should take at the VERY least 2 hours) but I was so nervous about the whole thing that I ended up telling her that I was there for a color consultation only. She said it was OK, and that if after the consultation I decided to get my color done, there would still be time for it. We talked, I told her what I needed, and she showed me confidence in getting the job done. I decided to get my root color done for my first visit and see how I would like her work before risking myself with the full weave. She went to mix the color, but shortly came back saying that she could do the color, but would not have time to dry and style my hair because she had another client in 50 minutes. I said it was not a problem, but asked if she could give me a discount. She said she would look into it. When the color was done and my hair was shampooed we went back to her station. I asked her if there would be, by any chance, someone else available to dry my hair so I could give her proper feedback on how I liked the color. She said she could find someone, but it would cost an additional $30. I decided to take care of my wet hair myself, asked her for a towel, and scrunched my curly hair. We walked to the reception desk for the payment. She gave me a $5 discount for not drying and styling my hair. $5!!! I felt terribly offended, but I did not complain because I hate to feel like I am begging for bargains. With everything, I still tipped her about 20%. Driving home, I felt very annoyed with a terrible stink that was surrounding me. My nose started running, and I realized that it was a mildewy, moldy smell that was on my hair and hands from their towel. I am allergic to mold, and a runny nose is an indicator that I have been exposed to mold spores. As soon as I got home, I showered and washed my hair again. My hair was still stinky, but I could not shampoo my fine hair for the 3rd time in less than 4 hours, specially after getting it colored. Today I am not impressed with the color of my roots, I could have accomplished better results doing it myself at home. I do not need to go far from my house, to an expensive place for my root color again, and I am not going to try to get my weave done there for sure.
I have been coloring my hair for 12 years, and I know many high class hair salons outside Utah. Just so you all have an idea, last month I was in South America and I needed my root color done. The stylist doing my color was running short in time, so the salon owner ordered that 2 (two) hairstylists dried and styled my hair to cut time in half! The next client arrived, and the salon owner finished styling my hair himself. I really loved his care and commitment to get me pleased. (plus, besides all carbonated and sugary drink options they had freshly squeezed orange juice -not from a box) All this amazing customer service for 60% less than I was charged at Moore Hair Design. With my 12 year experience with hair salons, I find myself in position to say that Moore Hair Design is not worth the money they charge for their services. The owner definitely thinks too highly of her little salon.
Dear 'Customer Service'- I am sorry to hear of your experience at MHD, and I would like to offer a sincere apology. Our customer care is very important to us, and clearly this incident is an exception to the rule, based on the customer satisfaction that no doubt helped you decide to try MHD. I would like the opportunity to speak with you further regarding your visit, so that I can correct the situation with my staff. If you would please email me at megan@moorehairdesign.com, I would be happy to discuss some ways that we can accommodate you and make things right.
Thanks

A Loyal Kimberly Bailey Customer. I have been getting my hair colored and cut by Kim for a couple of years now and she always does an amazing job. She's great about listening to what style you want and is a wiz at color. She also recently did my hair for my wedding and I absolutely loved the way it turned out. I got TONS of complements on it throughout the night. Thanks Kim!
Kimberly Bailey Rocks!!. For the past three years, I have had my hair cut and styled by Kimberly at Moore Hair Design. I have gotten complements on every style she has given me. Every time I go in, Kimberly takes her time to find out how I liked the last cut and what I want during the current cut. This interaction has resulted in great hair styles and a loyal customer.
