Great Tradition. I have been making breakfast a tradition on the weekends and keep returning to the Original Pancake House. It is very family friendly and the food is unbelievable! The coffee is great and my cup is almost always full, even when I don't need anymore!
Horrible Service.
My boyfriend took me here for the first time a few weeks ago. Sunday for breakfast.
Although they let us in, we did not realize they closed at 3:00, and the time was 2:40.
Feeling bad, but not wanting to leave, we decided to stay and give a generous tip at
the end of the meal. As soon as we were seated, the waitress came asked if we were ready..
our menus not even open.
Not only was the food gross, but the 3 remaining waitresses decided to gather at the front counter
and glare at us, because they couldn't go unless we were gone.
We were rushed out of there at 3:20, and most of our food was boxed.
I will never be back here, and neither will a few friends.
Lots of Choices. Love the food - lots of good choices and good quality, not the usual stuff out of a box. A little more money than some greasy spoons but I'm not complainin.
Where Else?. Where else you gonna go with a big party for a great breakfast? This is definitely the place. WE love the service (cute servers), the location and especially the food. Thanks!
how gross can you get?. service was fine after waiting forever at the door, only to be served eggs that totally got me terribly SICK only a few hours after eating there. i wont be back only because i dont enjoy having to pay for my meal the entire 24 hours after it. i was miserable. the quality of the food doesnt even matter to me if i know i am going to get sick.
We have never received a call from any customer claiming to have gotten sick in our restaurant, thus this comment surprised us. Food borne illness (particularly salmonella from eggs) is a serious issue and we comply with all Salt Lake County Health Department guidelines. Given no other customer ever got sick, it is highly unlikely we were the source of the illness. Illness from food takes 12-24 hours to manifest itself from onset - salmonella especially.
Flies. The service was fair, and the food was average. Our table was inhabited by flies before the food arrived and through the meal as well. I wish we had gone somewhere else where they have pest control. Our meal was hurried to prevent the flies from ruining the food on the table. Oh and yes we were inside.
Flies are indeed a problem for every business during busy summer months. We employ numerous prevention efforts including indoor/outdoor fly traps, fly fans on doors and indoor ultraviolet traps and a pest control service. We cannot control how long or how how often our guests open the doors, especially on busy holidays like Labor Day. We do eradicate every fly every night, however, each morning, as guests come in, the effort begins again. Short of getting a swatter and whacking away at your table while you're eating (not a good idea), we do everything we can to provide a fly-free dining experience and always look forward to the first frost!
Fabulous Place To Have A Good Breakfast. This is a truly wonderful place to eat, great service, wonderful food, and a very nice atmosphere. Their crepe's are to die for. I highly suggest this place to anyone.
Yum. Love the banana pancakes! Great service, food and pricing! The wait can be long on the weekend but it is well worth it.
A real review.
Can you say "disgruntled ex-employee"? I just read a hilarious review of this place where the woman goes off about how good the food and service are but then goes off on the owner. Uh, hello, how can there be such good staff without them being treated well? Anyway, that's just weird and clearly a personal thing.
But, back to my review: excellent service from Tiffany, my favorite server, and my favorite thing, tough choice, is the hash and eggs. REally good. I don't always like to wait on the weekend so I go when it is slower during the week and that way I get a booth.
