Best spa in Utah. This is the only place in Utah where I will have a manicure, pedicure, or waxing performed because it is meticulously clean! I have been a client since the business opened and have never had a negative experience. I also book appointments for all of my out of town guests, who always request to visit again on their next trip to Utah.
A Trip To San Francisco @ The Kura Door. This is clearly the best Spa in Utah as you feel like you're on vacation. The service and the ambience are amazing and my therapist was top notch. The attention to detail is outstanding and I can't wait to go back in 2 weeks for my next appointment. Bravo
We are so lucky...... ....to have a The kura Door right here in SLC. I had some friends in town last weekend from all over the country (Chicago, LA, New York and Baltimore). We were spoiled at the Kura door and all of my friends raved about how their experience stacked up against and even exceeded their best spa experiences. It made me proud to be a local.
this place is an absolute gem. I have visited countless numbers of spas all over the country and am a full fledged spa girl. And my experience at The Kura Door last night was hands down one of the best spa experiences i have ever had. This was not my first visit, and while I haven't written a review up to this point it was not because the service or atmosphere were less than stellar, it was just because I am not much of an online reviewer. But last night was so amazing. i just had to share. My husband and I went in to celebrate our anniversary and were scheduled for the couples retreat (ofuru bath and massage). We were met with such kindness and enthusiasm upon check-in and were led back into what i can only describe as a candle lit spa. the fragrances were amazing and the atmosphere was so beautiful and relaxing. We sat in the sauna briefly where our therapist retrieved us and led us into the most amazing room for our tub. This was followed by a tea service and soak and then two of the best massages we have ever had. Our therapists were very professional, yet warm and my husbands' therapist gave special attention to my husbands' neck - he is an athlete and has herniated discs - that my husband likened to 'magic'. We lingered after our massages in the steam room and waiting area and literally peeled ourselves off of the couch at closing. Our therapists left us chocolates as a gift at the front desk at check out - wow! We are going back next month for the same thing, but not before I go in next week for facial and pedicure:). I thoroughly recommend this place and wish that there were more places with this kind of integrity and attention to the smallest of details.
Beautiful place- but.... My husband and I wanted to do something relaxing for our 3rd year anniversary..so we booked the couples package. The receptionist gave us her last appointment on the books for a friday night which was 7:15pm. We arrived 15min. early like they had advised on the phone when I made the appointment , we filled out the paper work (which is really only a page front and back). Whilst we were doing so an attendant came up to us and asked us what we were having done- which I thought kind of strange- aren't they supposed to know what their guests booked their appointments for? She then brought us some sandals and robes- she gave us a quick tour but didn't really say anything about our treatments. My husband and I had a long day so we decided to take showers before out treatments we came out and another attendant met me and from that moment on I knew we were being rushed into our appointment. We went into the Ofuro room and she said verbatim "We are running low on time so I am going to skim right through this" Thomas and I looked at each other confused. She served us our tea told us how the back scrubbing area is used pointed to some cold wet towels she said were kept in a fridge and let us know that a bell would ring and that would be out notice to leave the room in 5 minutes so that she could clean the room and left. we were there for about 25 minutes and the bell rang! we thought we had the room for an hour from the moment the attendant left the room! While we were waiting for our massages we asked someone about this - she said she would look into it but never got back to us. We went in the sauna for a few minutes and our missuses came to meet us and gave us the news that our couples massage that we had booked in the same room were going to be in different rooms due to a a scheduling problem- my missus later told me that the two couples rooms were being used by two single people one in each room. They were very apologetic and we tried to understand but it was a huge let down, specially after our experience in the ofuro bath. The only name is remember is Amanda- she was a sweet heart and worked some magic! We had really good conversation and periods of nice relaxing silence. I loved it she even went a little over in our time together- When I came out to meet my husband he looked so disappointed I felt so horrible- This was supposed to be a relaxing time for both of us! We have a 1 yr. old daughter who likes to be held and loves her dad but his back is pretty tore up on the right side- he explained this to her and he thinks she forgot or was not listening because she worked extra hard on his left side.. then he said that the massage itself was not the greatest. we went into the steam room for a little bit after the massages- that was really great. Their tea and chocolates are pretty awesome too. They gave us about %20 off the regular price because of the booking problem with our massages but heard nothing about the ofuro bath time issue My husband ended up paying %20 for gratuity anyway so it brought it back up to the original price of not $220 like it says on their site but $240 . In all I don't know if I would recommend it or return if not only to have another massage with Amanda - she saved the experience for me, sadly for my husband he will not be returning.
Lovey Spa.
When I called to book my appointment the receptionist was obviously in a hurry and spoke to me like I was interrupting her day. This put me off but I love the Kura Door so I went ahead and scheduled my treatments. (Note: when I paid at the end of my appointment the receptionist had a similar attitude.)
I've been pretty stressed by work and I was really looking forward to a relaxing day at the spa. Unfortunately, when I arrived in the waiting room there was a loud group of women getting pedicures in a room next door so it was difficult to enjoy what is usually a very calm atmosphere. My massage was amazing and I felt wonderul when it was finished. I went to relax in the meditation room but I discovered that it's on the other side of the pedicure roomand there was another noisy group getting their toes done.
I'm baffled as to why they placed the pedicure room where they did because it detracts so much from the ambiance. That being said the spa attendant was wonderful and she continually made sure that I had tea and anything else I needed to enjoy my day. I highly recommend their massages. I will definitely be going back but I really hope they relocate their pedicure room and have the receptionists polish their customer service skills.
The most amazing Valentines Day of my life!.
Hands down the best spa in town! My husband and I were lucky enough to get appointments at the Kura Door during Valentines weekend. I was blown away by the attention to detail! Our Ofuro bath was amazing! We will always recomend a Kura Massage! I loved the Epicuren lotions, and the hot towels, our therapist were amazing! My Pedicure was amazing, the products were beautifully presented, I was kept warm and cozy, I could tell my technician was very well trained, he even helped me select my nail polish color to suit my relaxed mood, its been over a week and my toes still look perfect. I love the organic nail polish. The Sauna and Steam room are great, your technician will even recomend what amenity you will benefit from after your treatment!
To the owners, and staff of the Kura Door, thank you much for an unforgettable experience on Valentines day!
Professional/friendly Director and staff.. We were visiting from out of town and got our appointment times all messed up. When we arrived, we were treated extremely warm and friendly by their Director who directed her front desk staff into accommodating us. Not only that, but she made us tea and offered us chocolates......and it was OUR fault we were late! Our massages were the best we've ever had and the spa is so beautiful! We will be back.
Brandon is here!. Nailed Salon's loss is Kura Door's gain. Brandon is no longer at Nailed but is happily at the best Spa in town Kura Door. By the way the people at Nailed would not tell me where he went, shame on them.
Kura Door was amazing.
Went to a great spa - Kura Door - located in the Avenues a short drive from the hotel I was staying at. Japanese inspired look to spa, CLEAN, great service, I had an hour massage and an hour pedicure both were divine. I live in Apsen now and grew up in NYC so the prices to me were very reasonable $80 for an hour massage and $50 for a spa/hour pedicure - they use organic/natural nail polish - cool. They also sell tons of products for skin etc. I had to avert my eyes to escape with out buying anything.
Steam room and sauna too
