Editorial Review for Circle Lounge – by Ana Ventura

In Short
Sleek lounges and squat tables surround the crimson-curtained round stage centered in the Red Room. A second dining room, the White Room, offers seating in a serene atmosphere of neutral furniture, tables, tapestries and walls with giant circle cutouts. Sip a signature cocktail with local hipsters in the blue-lit area near the bar. Live acoustic jazz is played nightly and sushi is served until 1am. Imported wines and martinis, like the saketini, are the specialty.

Very disappointing. I work in a place where I get a lot of out of towners, who ask me where the best place to eat sushi is. I always recommended the CL, but now I am embarrassed I ever did so. The food isn't as fresh as it once was, the bathrooms are disgusting, the waitresses are snotty, but the worst of it is the time it takes to receive your order. I am a frequent customer on Tuesdays for the 1/2 sushi rolls, and it has taken 4 hours for them to bring out one roll before. 2.5 hrs this most recent time. It wasn't even busy. The waitress doesn’t even come over to let you know why it’s taking so long and when asked they all say the same thing. " Its Tuesday, so everyone orders a lot" So they should have another sushi chef on Tuesdays. . The staff seemed to be friends with the other customers that came in after us and their food was brought out first. The owner stands around talking to the chefs and flirting with staff. The atmosphere is great and the bands are great. This could be an amazing place if he gets his act together.

Pros: Tuesday 1/2 sushi night

Cons: Not worth the wait

My boyfriend took me to Circle Lounge for the first time and we loved it. The atmosphere was really unique and romantic, we had a great date. The food, service, and entertainment could not have been better. We were there on a Tuesday night and it coinsidently was their 2 for 1 sushi night. Anyway I was very impressed and will definately go back.

Pros: Food, Service, and Entertainment were great

Cons: Parking was a bit tough
