WAS my Fav place, once upon a time.... I have been eating at La Frontera for more than 20 years, and for the first time I was disappointed. Not just a little either, to the point that I doubt I'll return. My tacos were in shells out of a box (and almost stale), the cheese had been beyond frozen, and the chicken was all white meat (which it has never been before). Then I tasted my husband Chile and sure enough, the pork was from a can. I'm not sure if it's a new kitchen manager or simply a cost issue, but quality is everything at a place like this. I'll stick with Rancherito after this!

Editorial Review. Burritos, enchiladas, tacos and countless other traditional Mexican dishes can be found at this casual spot.

Best down home Mexican food in town. This ain't no yuppy Mexican, this is down home Mexican. Like I grew up with! Their smothered burreto is bomb! Almost as good as Grandma used to make!

Great authentic Mexican Food.. We have been going to another Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake City for 20 years but they changed. They became in consistent and we never knew what kind of meal we were going to get. We switched to La Frontera about a year ago and we'll never go back.

La Fronter is a good restaurant but this location, in particular, is a great one. The ambience is nothing to brag about and it's just a big dining hall but the service and the food are the best and always the same. We love the chilli verde burrito. None better in Salt Lake if you're into chilli verde like we are and it's always consistently good. Our other restaurant wasn't. One night it was too spicy, the next night not spicy enough and we were always told "there was a new cook on duty". That excuse is only good for a few times and then it's adios amigo.

Finally, don't forget to order the french fries. They are terrific. Whoda thunk it in a Mexican restaurant but these are about as good of homemade fries as you'll find in Salt Lake City. The service here is also very friendly and fast. We recommend it highly and especially this location.

not as good as the 400 S. La Frontera. Pretty good but it pales in comparison to the 400 S. 1200 W. La Frontera. I have eaten there about 5 times and every time something tastes a little better or a little worse than the last. The enchilada sauce was horrible the last time I was there but the chile verde was good. I live much closer to this one but usually travel to the 400 S. one because it is always excellent.
