Yuck!. Went here for the first time and tried lots of different things. The soup tasted like water and was just gross. The food was very bland and tasteless. But to top it off it was VERY expensive for what it was and then to make matters worse they over charged us by $5. We wont be back!

Good prices, Authentic Korean food. I'm going to give a review for people completely unfamiliar with Korean restaurants. I was once completely unfamiliar, so here are the things I wouldn't have understood my first time.

--In more authentic restaurants they will serve little appetizer dishes to the whole table of people while you wait on your order. This comes with your meal free of charge. They are usually various dishes of kimchi (pickled vegetables, usually cabbage or radish), kim (seaweed), sprouts, potatoes, and other things.

--Depending on what you order, you may get an uncracked egg with your meal. This is raw and usually comes with the soups. The idea is to crack it and put the egg in the boiling soup. It will cook while the soup cools enough to eat. Of course, it's optional.

--Several soups also come with white rice. It is very common to scoop some of the soup into the rice or vice versa and eat it that way.

----I've been to many Korean restaurants in Salt Lake, and this is my favorite by far. The place isn't fancy, but the food is great and not overpriced. They are known the best for their soft tofu soups, but all their food is delicious.

--As far as service goes, our waiters have all been just fine. In response to some reviews, restaurants in Korea are not quite the same as here. The quality of customer service waiters provide in America is a lot more emphasized than in Korea. Granted in all cases there are some people that just aren't good waiters, but every experience I've had there has been fine. Don't let that deter you.

--This restaurant has delicious Korean food. I recommended it to all my friends and they love it too.

Sorry Myung Ga. I am dissapointed.. I used to love the food. The whole experience was ruined by this new male waiters(Never seen him before summer 2009..)

I ask him for to refill my water cause my throat is very dry(Their food very oily --> 14,15,). But guess what, he never shows up! I ask him again for more side dish and water. Still nothing.

When we are done, I dont leave a tips for him and he ask me like " did you leave the tips on the table" I say No, why?

Then he start acting up, when it was my friends turn to pay. The waiter kinda throw his card at him. To make the long story short. No tips from my friend as well.

I was like. WTF, did you even serve me at all? I work at a restaurant before and I realize when ppl dont leave me a good tips simply means that I dont give them enough attention or service them well.

I might want to eat there if they fire the arrogant bastard.

Great Korean Food. The best Korean food in Salt Lake.

I love their hot tofu soups and all the bbqs are great. My favorite is the bo bim bop rice, very yummy with all sorts of veggies, beef, and fried egg.

The side dishes are also very good, cannot get enough.

I'm not a fan of the cheap water glasses and plastic table coverings, but the food makes up for it.

The waitresses are not fluent in English, but are very friendly and willing to refill the side dishes

Love this place. Want to try something different - tired of Chuck Arama and Olive Garden? If you are an adventurous eater, you need to try Korean food. I didn't like Korean food the first time I tried it. I don't know what it is about it, but now I find myself craving it. Utah only has a handful of Korean restaurants. This one is my favorite. It is called Myung Ga tofu house and bbq. This is a small family run restaurant located in a strip mall in West Valley at 1839 W. 3500 S. If you haven't tried Korean food before, go there for lunch. Lunch specials are $7.99. Dinner is more expensive ($15 - 20), but the portions are big. The menu is difficult to decipher as most of it is in Korean, so I will try to give you an idea of what they serve. Let's start with the tofu, they serve a soup that comes out so hot that it is still boiling, you put an egg in the soup and stir, the egg cooks immediately. The soups are tasty with pieces of tofu. Korean bbq consists of meat that has been broiled with a sweet/spicy sauce, it is served with a handful of side dishes including kimchi (a spicy, pickled cabbage that Koreans love), spicy cucumbers, wilted soybeans, sweet boiled potatoes, etc. The best part is the rice that is served in a hot stone bowl. You scoop out the rice and the remaining rice is slightly charred on the stone bowl. You eat the meat with rice and the side dishes. The blend of flavors, sweet, sour, spicy, makes it a sensory delight. I wouldn't take a picky eater there, but for those who are looking for something unusual and delicious, this place it a real find.

OVERPRICED! BAD SERVICE! CHEAP! DIRTY PLACE! for OKAY food. This place's food is not only overpriced, but is DIRTY and has some the LAZIEST waitresses. You have to track them down for service. When you have leftovers to take home, they are CHEAP. First, they don't believe when you tell them you need boxes. Second, they come to verify with a HUGE ATTITUDE and DIRTY LOOKS! Third, after verifying the food on the table, they said they can only give you ONE box of the the FIVE dishes you order. They are cheap boxes, NOT diamonds. When we pay for our meals that cost $18 dollars per dish, are we not paying for the 20 cent boxes? CHEAP RESTAURANT and POOR SERVICE.

Best Korean in Salt Lake City. I'm korean, and I have ate at all the korean restaurants in Salt Lake City, and this one is by far the best one there. Food is delicous and more authentic. It's priced fairly there, unlike Ejo. I ordered the bibimbap and the bulgogi which was tasty and they give you a nice portion. The service was alright.

authentic Korean. I must say I know where the first reviewer is coming from. I lived in Korea for a few years and did not love the food initially. That has changed and now I regularly crave it. I have tried all of the local Korean Restaurants and this is the most authentic and tasty to me. The Pulkogi was good, though I like it a bit spicier, which when asked the server gladly brought me some Korean hot paste. The tubu soup was flavorful (hard for tofu) and the kimchi and other side dishes were very generous and good. The service was attentive and friendly and everything was served in a timely manner. It would help to speak and read Korean to really understand the menu, but for the most part I feel the English description aptly described the item. I will frequent Myung Ga even though it is quite a ways for me to go and to the first reviewer I would say, give it another try.
