Burnt Ends Lunch Rules. I've really enjoyed Pat's every time I've visisted. We went on a Friday and tried their Burnt Ends Lunch, and it was delicious. Brisket smoked and smoked and smoked until it is amazingly tender and delicious - I like the spicy sauce better than the mild sauce. The price seems a little bit high, but when I consider the amount of work it would take me to duplicate their efforts, I don't think it's too much. Good beans, good corn bread, good sauce, good meat = good barbeque.

Good meat - bad EVERYTHING ELSE. We went to Pat's after hearing all about the brisket from some friends. Well, the brisket is really pretty awesome, but it's the only thing above "pure crap" about the whole place.

My "salad" came with a packet of Newman's Ranch dressing. The cornbread was dry, crumbly and bland with a bizarre tang. My sandwich bread was basically a dry stale hostess bun, which made me reach for the BBQ sauce. The ketchup bottle the sauce was stored in was dirty and greasy,and licking it would probably have tasted better than the crap inside. Worst sauces I have ever had, and they bother to make three varieties.

I'll forgive the the crappy building, the weird parking and the paper plates because it IS barbecue after all. and I'm not there for ambiance. However, the live music was so loud and terrible I couldn't hear myself think, even though we (two of us) seated in the back at a picnic table meant for 8 or more people - super awkward.

I didn't finish my meal there, but rather took the meat off the bread and threw it into a take-home container (it WAS very tasty), went home and ate it with a bottle of store-bought sauce instead. THEN I was able to enjoy it.

My advice? Get the brisket to go - no sides, no bread, no sauce and make your own sandwich at home.

Bad. Went there one time and will never go back. Building looks like a dump, awful looking logo that makes you lose your appetite, paper plates and plastic wear, dirty ceilings and windows, sauces in beer containers, no menu variety...

Cardboard. I don't complain about food much. However, this was the first time in my life I made it a point to remember to get online and write about the bad food.

My dad paid for the meal. And I felt guilty that he was spending his money on this bad, bad, cardboard food.

I had to send back my collard greens (in a styrofoam bowl) because they tasted like they had dumped an entire salt shaker in the limp soggy greens.

I ordered the ribs. I love ribs. I have eaten thousands. These were super dry, super tough and completely tasteless. So then you have to dump cold BBQ sauce on them. BBQ sauce is kinda hard to mess up, I even like the corn syrup crap you buy at the store- this was about the same as that, and cold.

Way over priced.

And they make you eat with plastic utinsels and styrofoam plates - for $14? I don't think so. Avoid this place. ;)

What the?. Been there three times in the past year, my boss bought everytime, there's no way in h*** I'd pay for that experience. Anyone who gives this place more than three stars must be an employee of Pats. 80% of the customers when I've been there were male. Now there's nothing wrong with that except that most guys will eat anything and like it. DON'T waste your time and money, very over priced.

didn't live up to the hype for us. Took 3 of my kids plus a son-in-law to lunch today. I saw Pat's featured on a Food Network show and wanted to try it out. We got there at 1 pm. It was busy, but not *that* busy.

Took a good 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered, which seemed rather excessive considering what we ordered. They ran out of ice, so we were served warm drinks. I had a soda that was flat and terribly watered down - had to send it back and got water instead. Waitress never came by to check on us for refills while we waited the 45 minutes for our food.

We had such anticipation for the food. The consensus at our table was that it wasn't bad, but it wasn't really great either. The buns on the pulled pork sandwiches were a bit dry - they definitely didn't taste fresh. The sides all tasted like they came out of one of those bulk containers from Costco or Sam's Club. Again, not bad but not great.

The meat & sauce was good-- we had pulled pork, chicken, and beef tips--but it wasn't so good that any of us considered it worth the wait, drive, price, or the suffering through the terrible service. The kids' opinions were that Sugarhouse BBQ is just as good and even better in some ways, plus Sugarhouse BBQ has much better service.

Am really wondering why the Food Network bothered to feature this place and recommend it to people.

Not what I was expecting. I was excited to try this place out. I love barbeque ribs. Now, I understand everyone's tastes are different, so I wasn't going to unfairly mark it a one star because this wasn't up to par with mine. This is how they do ribs here. They are dry rubbed and smoked with the sauce on the side. I like my ribs falling off the bone and smothered in sauce. On the upside it was fast to get take out, though the girl at the counter was kind of frosty, and the cornbread was yummy.

Cold Food. Either the crew at Pat's were off their game last Saturday or that place is a terrible disappointment. While the portion served was great, it arrived room temperature. Cold BBQ? That's what I though. The potatoes were lukewarm, thanks to the hot gravy it was edible. The BBQ sauce had a great taste, though thin and runny. I ended up with BBQ soup at the bottom of my plate. I did not care for the cramped picnic table seating. God forbid someone have a hip or weight problem.

You can do better. Jambalaya was a weak interpretation. Rice was clumpy and undercooked.

The beef brisket tasted more like salty corned beef than smoked brisket. I have had better ribs.

Went there to eat bbq and there just happened to be a band. I shared a plate of food with my husband, and was told at the cashier's station that we would have to each pay a cover charge of $5.00 to the band. That extra $10.00 we were not informed of until after our meal. We will never go to pat's again. There are better bbq joints in town.
