good, but kinda pricey for what it is. the brisket was some of the best ive had. nice and tender and flavorful. the sauces were fantastic. the ribs that the guy next to me got looked AWESOME... didnt try em. the sides were great too (jambalaya especially). there were only couple problems i had: 1) they were clearly busy enough to have two or three more people on the wait staff... that made service VERY slow. 2) it's a bit expensive for food served on a styrofoam plate with plastic utensils. i have NO problem with BBQ on styrofoam. thats the way its supposed to be. but if they're gonna put on the "down home country bbq" front, why make it $20 a person after tax and tip? back in kentucky i could get the same down home bbq for $8-10. that being said, im going tomorrow for the burnt ends. it really was really good food. and im sure they're usually better about service from what i hear.
Pretty great barbecue. If you are in need of barbecue, Pat's is the place to go. The food is always really good, especially the brisket. You can do take out but it is neat to go when there is live music. The inside of the restaurant is pretty bare bones but it is a nice change of pace from a regular restaurant.
Good, but.... Many of my friends have raved about Pat?s food and ambiance, so my girlfriend and I decided to try it the other night. Great ambiance, service, and live music (if you ever have the chance to hear blues musician John Nemeth, do it!) , but they must have been having an off night with the food. I was expecting the ribs to be meat falling off the bone tender and savory, but they were surprisingly tough and stringy. Also, the coleslaw was excessively heavy and soupy. My girlfriend's pulled pork sandwich looked fabulous, and she said it was. Like I said, must've just been an off night from everything I've heard, so I will try it again.
live music too!. Eat the burnt ends on fridays. yummy. pat's has great bbq and really good live music for lunch. love it
The Best BBQ in Utah and rivals the top BBQ Joints in the south.
I lived in North Carolina Georgia and Florida for 13 years. I love good southern BBQ... But I have to tell you Pat's ranks right up there with the best BBQ places I've been too. the entertainment is pure Southern the food is unbelievable.... You have to try it... Promise you'll LOVE IT.

Great Ribs. Having lived in Texas, where you can find great barbecue on every block, Pat's can hang with the best of them. The fact that it's located in a run down area and still has the reputation that it does only speaks for how good the food is. It's a little hard to find, but worth the effort.
For BBQ Lovers.
While I am not an expert BBQ I do love and have tried it all over the country.
Pats is as good as it gets and we are so lucky to have it in Salt Lake City. Have tried other BBQ in the Valley and they just don't stand up to Pat's.
The side dishes are truly special and the meats are suberb. Don't miss this one.
By the way, don't let the area turn you away it is wonderful inside!
Best BBQ in SL County. All I can say is wow. Not only was the ambiance fun and what you would expect in a Bar B Q pit...but the food was excellent. I've never had better Ribs. The entertainment added a lot to the meal that was shared with co-workers.
great food. Doesn't look like a restaurant, but it is and you might get lost inide. East of the Trax, behind R.C. Willey. hard to find. The thing to get here are the RIBS!
Really great ribs!!!. Pat's is a little hard to find, but sure is worth it. The pulled pork and brisket that I had were wonderful, but the ribs that my wife ordered were divine! Both blackeyed peas and baked beans were delicious, and the jambalaya was very tasty too. The ONLY complaint I had was the seating, I wasn't comfortable at the nice looking, home-built, picnic tables. And Pat is a great guy. I highly recommend it.
