In Short – Located a block from the U. campus, this bright restaurant is popular with students on dates and neighborhood folks in the evenings. Large windows and a colorful mural brighten the narrow dining room while the patio in front is a prime spot for people-watching. The menu highlights Greek specialties like spanakopita, mousaka, stifado and a variety of souvlaki and gyros. Additional entrees include lamb chops, rib-eye steak and tilapia.
We had a wonderful experience at Aristo's

My daughter decided that Aristo's was where she wanted to celebrate her birthday. I was a little wary because of the reviews I read but I must say that we had a fabulous time. The food was excellent and we tried quit a variety. Our waitress was superb. The patio and live music just added to our enjoyment - just perfect.
- Pros: Great food and atmosphere

I cannot express how disappointed in this restaurant I was after reading a couple of good reviews!!! We were seated immediately, but unfortunately getting our food was another matter. The main course came 45 minutes AFTER we had eaten our appetizers. The waiter might have at least scored some points had he offered pita to keep us from gnawing our arms off between appetizer and the main course. The pita is excellent, but the amount given is nothing sort of stingy... it wasn't even proportionate to the hummus. The main course portions are extremely small and then to add insult to injury the food was terrible. The pork soulvaki was overcooked with a burnt exterior. The Boureki at $13.95 was to be kind BLAND. The cinnamon in the Mousaka was overwhelming and if you are smart you will save yourself the $6 DIFFERENCE on the gyros and go the local Greek fast food restaurant. You will be richer and a lot more satisfied.
- Pros: pita
- Cons: stingy with the pita, small portions, horrendous service
one of the most consistent restaurants in utah!

I have no idea what the reviewer means by ranch, I have eaten at aristo's for years, on a very regular basis. There is no ranch on any of their dishes, nor available for their salads. If you can't tell the difference between ranch and tzatziki (sp?), you shouldn't have the audacity to write a review. On to the important stuff, the food. Aristo's, like i said is one of the most consistent restaurants I visit in salt lake city. I have had most everything on the menu, the octopus app. is one of my favorites, and their thursday night patio grill menu is fantastic. Their greek salads, I absolutely love. You should try this paired with some lamb chops. I also reccomend their Mousaka and Pastitsio (sp?), while I am no expert on Greek authenticity, these are fantastically constructed dishes, that balance flavors very well. The best of all though, must be their rice pudding, i believe made by Aristo's mother, it is unstopable! I reccomend branching out here, utah, if you want a gyro, i think McDonalds may come out with one soon. Oh, and I think that Kari is one of their best servers, though you can't go wrong, servers are servers in utah, as noone stays anywhere very long anymore. This is one of the restaurants that does what it does, day in and day out to a T. I also hear a rumor that they are opeining on Sundays for dinner, and weekdays for breakfast.
- Pros: consistent food
- Cons: cant think of any
