treat their customers like an inconvenience. I come here to buy the Marlies Dekkers bras, which I love, but this boutique has the worst customer service. They post their hours but then change them when it's convenient and never seem to be open. They treat their customers like an inconvenience and make it as difficult as possible to buy anything from them. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but my last visit was the last straw. The owner, Rena, continued to give me the wrong sizes even though I made it clear several times which size would fit me best and then dismissed me for taking too long. I made a rushed decision and when I came back to make an exchange due to buyer's remorse the door was locked and there were no business hours posted for that day (it was the middle of the day on a Saturday). The next time I tried to make the exchange the sales woman said I had to come back when the owner was there to make any exchanges. The next attempt I called first to make sure the owner would be there and Rena answered the phone. She actually lied to me and said Rena wouldn't be in until 2 that day. The woman is wack and the way she runs the place baffles me. The next time I buy a Marlies Dekkers bra I will just add it to my travel expenses because it certainly won't be from this place ever again.
Let's see.."Anonymous" is calling these reviews "suspicious?.
After reading this post by Anonymous, I had to write in my review. It's incredible that someone who hasn't even gone to the salon could get away with rating it.
Juan has been coloring my hair for 19 years. I would never go anywhere else. All of my daughters have their hair and brows done at Estilo. My husband even goes to Estilo, and he was someone who was hard to pull away from Supercuts because he didn't want to spend the money. He is now a devoted client of Juan's also.
Rina and Juan have treated our whole family as if we are some of their most valued clients. We aren't rich, but we choose to spend the money we have on quality work.
I brought my sister into Rina while she was dying of Pancreatic cancer. It was important to my sister to have eyebrows at her funeral. I'm not kidding, you had to know my beautiful sister. Rina treated her so sweetly, and she did an amazing job of making those permanent brows look natural. It meant so much to my sweet sister, who now is gone.
Juan and Rina strive to be at the cutting edge of fashion, hair, and makeup trends. Yet, they also respect those of us who just want to look as beautiful as we can while we age.
I've watched these two, along with Soraya - who is usually at the front desk, work incredibly hard at making this salon the unique treasure it is.
I'll be braver than "Anon" and post my name: Lisa Teran
I've been looking for a good place to get my eyebrows shaped. At first glance, Estilio looks really promising due to their many positive reviews. However, as I read them I became suspicous. It's unusual to have a multitude of 5 star ratings and a few 1 stars and nothing at all inbetween. Also, the 5 star ratings read like an advertisement, just over the top glowing and also mentioning other products to purchase. Finally, I notice that many of the ratings were submitted on the exact same date.
So, to be fair, this rating is not based upon going there. But based upon the suspicious nature of the other reviews, I'm not going to chance it.

straight from Vogue.
Estilo if absolutely fabulous.
I have had my brows done by Rina for over 5 years. Although Estilo may be a little pricey it is well worth it. The saying is true, "you get what you pay for." I have friends who pay $15 for their brows and yep... they look like $15 dollar brows. I pay just a little more than that and I look like I'm straight from Vogue. Rina has a gift. When she sculpts your brows she literally gives me a face lift. I have never left the salon thinking of my brows are too thin which I know happens to many of women. Also, she gives the best fashion advice. I love when she shows me all the fun things she brought back from New York that are not even in the stores in Utah yet. Estilo is such a great experience I always have to tell my friends! You have to try Estilo if not for brows then for hair. They are all superstars and know exactly what they are doing... I promise you will not regret it.
I Love Estilo.
Never have I ever gotten my eyebrows done and felt so beautiful after. Rina truly has talent. As for Juan and the rest of the people there, they are amazing at what they do. Whether its coloring hair, hair extensions, or just talking they keep focus on you and make sure you are happy.
You should RUN to their salon because you won't be walking away from them anytime soon!
Best Brows and Refreshing Style!.
If you are looking for phenomenal brows...look no futher! Rina. Is. Amazing. I have always been very particular with my brows and for years had a hard time finding someone to shape them without being too thin. Rina is very skilled in shaping them to my face, while still leaving them shapely and beautiful...every time. I can't tell you how many people I've had comment on how great my brows look and ask me where I get them done. That is why I have been seeing Rina for over 10 years.
The salon itself is refreshing. I like it because they carry unique products and the best / premium products you can't find anywhere else (such as Marlies Dekkers). It's great to be unique and keep your style fresh...whether it's hair, accessories, etc....Estilo is THE place to keep it fresh!
5th Ave for the Day. About six months ago I was introduced to Estilo Salon from a good friend of mine. I moved here from New York about 2 years ago and have had the hardest time finding finding a good hair stylist as well as some high fashion. As time went on I thought I was out of luck here in Salt Lake City. Thankfully I found Estilo. Juan, the hairstylist, does not belong in Utah, he belongs backstage at Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour styling Gaga's hair. I have worn extensions for many years but nothing as beautiful as Juans work. He definitely has a gift and not only that he is an awesome person to get to know. I have to admit I get excited to see him every time I get my confirmation call. Another great feature to Estilo is the new, exclusive lingerie line from Europe. I bought a couple of the bras and I am in need of more!! I have never had a more comfortable bras as well as one that is actually allowed to be used as an accessory. Rina and Soraya are so much fun to shop with, I can't wait to go back!! I highly recommend Estilo for their energy, talent, and generosity.
Hip Salon!. I love coming to Estilo located conveniently across from the Gateway in SLC. Rina, Juan, and their staff, are always very upbeat, friendly, and excited to see you. Rina has been doing my brows for several years and I always walk away very satisfied and looking like a new woman. They also sell the top notch hippest products around like Marlies Dekkers bras which not only me but several members of my family love and own. I would definitely recommend heading into this salon for star quality treatmeant!
Changed my opinion from when I first loved them :(.
The saying "Familiarity breeds contempt" is definitely the case with Estilo. I still think Rina rocks with how she does my brows and 90% of the time I love what Juan has done with my hair. So the 5 stars are for ability. The overall salon experience is a one star and here's why.
When I drop hundreds of dollars on beauty services I expect to be pampered and feel relaxed. Don't you? That doesn't happen at Estilo. Rina is ALWAYS hawking something. First I was told how I NEEDED headbands. $50 and $60+ headbands with over the top bling and feathers that look ridiculous on anyone over 18. Despite her relentless hard sell I passed on the silly headbands.
Then it was some roll-on mask for your face at night. I got sucked into the overpriced liquid and the product was good! So good in fact, that Rina wanted me to become a distributor and sell the product to my friends. Think Amway! The product is good so I looked at the contract you have to sign and found that Rina violates many of its clauses...like not bashing other companies' products, not discussing wholesale price, not telling how much you make, not showing the commission checks...you get the idea. I realized that if I signed up to distribute the product I'd be under Rina and that so was not gonna happen! I think pressuring your clients to try a product in order from them to become distributors themselves so you make even more money off your clients is beyond tasteless.
The latest thing I can't seem to escape are her $200 dominatrix bras. What do dominatrix bras have to do with getting my hair and brows done? It's the latest thing Rina insists you NEED and is she pushy with a capital P about getting you to try them on. I've avoided trying them on thus far when I want to tell Rina "Girl, I don't like your slutty bras!"
So as much as I love how my brows and hair look I have to admit that I have come to dread my appointments because I know Rina will be shoving her latest fad down my throat. It's not the pampering experience I deserve for the money I drop. I even cringe if I'm left alone and her attention is on some other poor prisoner trapped under a cape with color on her head.
After reading through all the reviews there are a couple other things worth responding to. You TV personalities that love what Juan and Rina do to make you look good? Well you are gossiped about all of the time. So are you Park City gals who come slumming in SLC. You have no idea about all the things we know about all of you courtesy of Juan and Rina. At least they have the delicious gossipyness of a good salon right.
As many others have said yes, the receptionist is rude. Unless I greet her first she just looks at me and says nothing. I find it troublesome that she's rude since she's Rina's daughter. It isn't like she doesn't know who I am after all this time. I'm always shocked when she asks me what I want to tip since Juan and Rina should never been tipped...the beauty industry has a cardinal rule that salon owners are not tipped. In fact, etiquette dictates they politely refuse.
So Estilo while I once loved you, you're just way too focused on trying to sell me your latest NEED (fad) when I'd be so happy to have my services provided with some light chit chat. What I NEED is to come in and feel pampered. When you have to decompress from your salon appointment something is seriously wrong.
