Long Time Satisfied Customer. My wife and I started buying from John Paras Furniture about 8 years ago. 2 houses later, 1 dining room set, 2 full bedroom sets, couches and entertainment centers we are still very happy with our purchases. They don't sell cheap particle board furniture and they don't sell you stuff they can't deliver. I can't say they have never made a mistake, but I can say they always made it right. One time they were assembling a bed we had delivered and the delivery guy accidentally put a dent in the drywall. John personally called and apologized and sent someone out to repair the dent on their dime. No other furniture company I know has this level of integrity.
Don't blame your customers for bad reviews. I understand why you would respond to spinerman's review (gquig is obviously connected to John Paras), but this kind of defense does not help a prospective customer (me) develop a better impression of your customer service. No customer should leave a store with a negative impression--no matter if you can't agree a deal and no matter what exchange occurred. Navigating interactions with customers is part of a sales rep's basic training. Trying to paint the customer in a bad light publicly because his issues were not addressed at the store is dreadful. Ensure the customer leaves with a positive impression--even if not a deal--and you won't have to manage the damage afterward. Simply based on your response to this customer, and not the customer's review, I won't be visiting your store as I had intended to.
EXCELLENT STORE & CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have personally had nothing but FANTASTIC service and experiences at JOHN PARAS FURNITURE. I saw the previous review from "spinerman" and I feel like there is much more to this story that was not relayed. I have nothing but praise for this store and for John Paras himself as I have been helped by him in the store. He was extremely polite and helpful and I can only imagine that if the situation came to the owner asking this customer to leave that the "customer" was extremely out of line. I LOVE John Paras Furniture and will always do my shopping there. I know I will be treated with respect and will be dealt with honestly. If you ask me John Paras is the ONLY place to buy furniture in UTAH.
John Paras himself has horrible customer service. We had our eye on a couch for several months. We even had a sales rep that we had been working with. He new how much we were interested in the peice. Finally it was mothers day weekend and I was ready to buy the couch. They were all out, except for the one on display for the past 4 months. Disappointed we said we would buy it if they would discount it considering the used condition and that we would have to clean it. They said 10%. My wife said to the manager, that we would take it for 15%(this would only be another $50 off) At that point we did not know this at the time but John Paras himself was standing right be side us. Not saying anything. The Sales person and manager said "No way, someone will eventually buy it for full price". I was shocked. There I was with my wife, trying to buy her this gift, unfotunitely used and the manager would not go done $50.00. We said we rather keep looking and started walking away from the counter when we were about 50 ft away we heard a voice directed top my wife say get out of here we don't want your business!" At this point we were completely blown away, and felt outright humiliated. I felt someone hirer up needed to know about this unprofesional and disrepectful out burst, so I asked him his name. He introduced himseltf as "JOHN PARAS, the OWNER" Wow, enough said/ I will never go to any of his stores again and suggest that everyone else do the same. I also feel this John Paras person offer a public apology to my wife.
