NO SECURITY!!!

Just returned from a 4 day stay at the Sheraton in Downtown SLC. What a Joke. This is supposed to be one of the best hotels in the city. This hotel was the "Host" hotel for the exhibitors for the National Mule Deer Convention. We were told that the hotel provided armed security in the parking lot where we were instructed to park our vehicles and trailers full of expensive mechandise. What a crock!!! Not only was there not a security guard watching the parking lot, we were told AFTER our brand new truck had been vandalized, that the "Security Cameras" were not operational due to the recent 14 million dollar remodel! The desk clerk "Aaron" couldn't have been more rude or unsympathethic to the situation. Simply stating..."we have a sign posted, that says we are not responsible"! Then proceeded to tell us that this same thing has happened at least 3 other times in the past. Blaming it on the nearby nightclubs and bars. Hmmmm......everyone elses fault that they are not providing an obviously necessary camera since the mystery "armed gaurd" is unable to find the parking lot? Not only will our truck need a new paint job, the vandals apparently spent enough time frolicking in the "Secure" parking lot to remove a box of 30 or more frozen oranges from the bed of the truck and throw them at the other vehicles and trailers in the lot. Do not stay at this hotel if you are looking for a worry free nights stay! Or, expect the SHeraton Hotel to accept any sort of liability for the negligence!
dont let the name fool you

if you book through priceline or anything similar dont choose to stay here. the sheraton looks down on guests that book from those discount sites. if you call and request something employees are told not to bring it to you and if something is not working and is a major inconvience for a priceline guest they dont care. if there are those that have stayed at the hotel in the recent past for a convention and had 4 people in the room and only had 1 towel and no washcloths it was done deliberitely to save the hotel laundry costs. The hotel should have been embarrassed to stoop to something that cheap carrying the sheraton name.
- Pros: centrally located and great employees
- Cons: terrible management, hidden charges, etc..
Great customer service
