The Scene – Fabulous Thai sculptures and framed artwork contrast with futuristic light fixtures in a color scheme featuring blue and purple. The dining area is small--fewer than 15 tables tightly spaced--so it can feel crowded, but it's a place that's abuzz with activity, where people of all ages feel welcome. – – The Food – From appetizers to entrees, the food is outstanding. Begin with moist, tender chicken satay or delicate spring rolls, or try the more unusual tofu tod: Chunks of deep-fried tofu served with a piquant sweet and sour sauce and a slightly sweet…
Good Food...GREAT service
by AndyA
I seldom write reviews but after reading the last review I decided I needed to share our experience.
My wife and I dined at Thai Siam recently. The food was very good, not great, a bit sweet for authentic thai but what made our experience so memorable was the server. I don't know her name but she used to work at the Thai restaurant near Cottonwood Mall. . My wife and I consider her one of the very best servers in the city .To start with, she is very pretty, a great smile, so welcoming and attentive. It was a 4.5 star experience with the upgraded service. I suggest those that have had service issues in the past at this restaurant give it another try. Just my 2 bahts worth. AJ
- Pros: service, portions
- Cons: food a bit sweet but very tasty
I second "RUDE AND INCOMPETENT" with emphasis on RUDE!
by Perrin
"Rude" pretty much sums up my experience as well. I'll never go back. A misunderstanding with splitting up the bill 3 ways caused the tip to to be less than they expected or wanted. They came running after us out the door looking for an explanation as to why the tip was what it was. Never seen such a thing. Our sever was as rude as could be. The male counterpart was aggressive and abrasive. T.I.P. stands for "to insure promptness".
If that is the case, they should not have had a tip at all. They were very slow in taking our order.
I like to give servers the benefit of the doubt and I support these folks but when they come running after me in such a rude manner, demanding a better tip, that is just bad business. I will not go back.
- Pros: Food was good
- Cons: Rude!
Definately best Thai in SLC and beyond
by mdclar
I went to Thai Siam on their opening day and fell in love with their Massaman. We've been back numerous times and returned again tonight with our friends who were nervous about Thai food. We ordered Massaman, Pad Thai, Citrus Curry, chicken and peanut sauce and the Tom Kha Gai Soup.
Everything was amazing and our friends were highly complimentary. We came home with leftovers and dug right into them again!
I've been to Thai places all over the country and world and this is a great place, always a treat.
- Pros: Wonderful flavors
