Why do people go here?! – I pass Trio on the way to work everyday and it is always packed. WHY?!
The only thing good about it is the archtecture of the building and the patio.
They have a great scam going on here; have the very good looking waiters serve you chef boyardee and charge $15 for it.
It is one of those places people feel so trendy going to and happy to be at a hot spot, when in reality they are just keeping crappy restaurants in business. No restaurant has made me more mad than this one.
Just OK all the way around. – Everytime I eat lunch at Trio I am kind of put off. The sandwiches are solidly made but just boring to me. The servers are pre-occupied with their looks and spend more time away from tables than at them. You do see the bussers more than the waitstaff.
Horrible Service, Ok Food – Absolutely horrible service. We only saw the waitress twice, once to take our order and once to take our check. Someone else brought our dinners out and she did not come back to check on us once. We had to ask the busser to take out dessert order.
Also the tables were a little too close to one another, you can almost hear what the couple next to you are talking about and can definitely see what they ordered, what they're eating, etc.
Food was decent for the price, would like to come back to try other items on the menu, but hopefully not with the same server.
I love Trio! – We dine at Trio very often and usually bring the kids. I think the secret is to go early before the crowds. Saturday nights can be a long wait. The food is excellent! We have always loved the food, from the pizzas to the Valentine's day specials, it's all so good! The Trio flatbread is wonderful! The desserts are incredible. However, the service is either excellent or poor. There are some very talented wait staff there, and some really bad ones. It is the only downfall. I think tend to hire pretty people, which is ok if they can do the job. get rid of the ones who can't! I love the food here and will keep going back!
flavorless food! – My girlfriends and I had brunch here. We all agreed the food was mediocre and simply lacking in flavor. I had the cheese panini & creamy tomato soup.. it was nothing special. Whole foods salad bar has tastier soup. A few others had the french toast. I thought it was alright but how hard is french toast?? The waiters were nice & pleasant but we felt rushed. They quickly took our plates without asking if we were done. I wouldn't recommend it for brunch. Maybe the dinner menu is better..
Try Citrus Grill, Oasis, or Sages for brunch!
OK food better service from hotties! ;) – The food here is ok... but the waiters are hotter! My dream boy is a waiter there. Thanks for the service K.
Poor service... – We dined at Trio recently for my birthday. The patio was gorgeous and we appreciated the cool water misting on a hot night. While the food was good and my husband really enjoyed his fresh salad, our server had her nose in the air the whole time. A waitress could hardly think she was so much better than us. It doesn't get any more unprofessional and unpersonable as her. Trying to act sophisticated should not turn you into a snob. Please learn what a smile and friendly word can do. We tried to act friendly and tell her we enjoyed our food and she could have cared less.
Why the price and not the quality? – Thought would be great, but mediocore to poor . Service was slow, waited for water and waited longer then expected, brought out untree salad for one person of 6diners, without asking if they wanted to wait and have salad with everyone else' entree. Mushrooms on pizza were canned and of poor quality. I would expect fresh ,since the garlic was freshly roasted, the chicken grilled to perfection, why ruin a wonderful thing like that by throwing on a handfull of canned mushrroms to land anywere.
Had to ask for water refills, and when the meal was brought out by someone other then the server, it was confusing whom to tip.
Will not go there as a first suggestion, but next time will have garlic flatbread and soup.
Just ok.. – So the hubby and I decided to try Cafe Trio, after hearing good reviews for it & driving by it multiple times. We ordered our meal to go, and got the Pasta Carbonara... Ok first off after trying it when we got home, I found it didn't really have any flavor to it, so I added some marinara sauce to it. My second problem would have to be that 99% of the bacon in the dish was not cooked.. Had I known that before hand I probably would have asked them to COOK the bacon.. Personally for me, I just dislike uncooked bacon.. I might consider going back and trying a different dish, maybe a dessert... But from now on I think I'll stick to my own homemade Italian food...
Do not go to the Cafe Trio in Cottonwood! – Our group was disgusted to find (after taking several sips) that 3 out of our party's 7 people had long, dark hairs in our water! After informing our rather unapologetic waitress, we were asked if we would like new waters...um, hello..YES!?! As we were at a birthday party, we laughed off the situation though it was quite an appetite killer. However, the waitress told us that they would give us free desserts to "make up" for it. During dinner, the "birthday" girl found a large eggshell in her pasta. After the incident with the "hairy" waters, she officially lost her appetite and did not eat any of her meal. Because the waitress had offered free deserts for the fiasco, most of our party ended up ordering them. Once our bills came, however, we found that only a couple of the desserts were comped. We finally asked to speak with the restaurants manager, and after about a half hour of waiting, the manager finally came to our table. After explaining the situation to her we were told, "and what would you like me to do about it?" Now, none of us are that picky of restaurant goers. The whole hairy water thing was quite gross but we all made light of it. However, the obvious lack of concern and deceptive behavior by the staff left our birthday celebration with a bad taste (literally) in our mouths. I don't understand how a restaurant can survive with such bad customer service! There are plenty of other good restaurants with good food AND good service, that I will never put myself through such an experience again!!!
