Lack of Communications. I called with ongoing sinus pain and was told by my internist that she could not help me any longer and I would need to get a CT scan. Taking things into my own hands, I phoned to make an appointment at the Ear Nose and Throat Ctr. I waited 1 hour in the waiting room at 8:45 in the morning and when I was finally seen, I was told that the doctor had been in a procedure. I mentioned this to the Dr. and he said absolutely not, but he had been sitting in his office waiting for his first patient. He then announced that I would need a CT scan & that someone would call me later in the day and that he would like to see me the following Monday. A week has gone by and no one has called. I have now called and left a message and am waiting patiently.…
Full evalutions cannot be performed at this location. I made an appointment to see Dr. Steven Miller at Intermountain ENT Specialists in their Highland Dr. location. The receptionists were friendly and apologetic that Dr. Miller was still in surgery and running behind. After waiting 30 min I asked them how much longer and one of the receptionists told me the doctor had just phoned to say it?d only be another 15 mins. Then the receptionist considerately asked me if I wanted to reschedule. I figured since I?d already waited a half hour, 15 minutes more wasn?t a big deal, as I didn?t want to wait another 2 weeks before the next available appointment. It turns out that the doc didn?t show up for another 50 minutes. At that point there were so many patients waiting that he was in a huge rush. In the few minutes he did have with me, he was polite and listened and seemed knowledgeable. The really big problem, though, was that it turns out the Highland Dr. location is only a satellite office. They have no equipment there to do any sort of tests or evaluations! Basically, people only go there for follow ups! I would have to reschedule for another time at their other office anyway. Thus, this visit was a huge waste of time and money for me! What upsets me most is that when I initially called to make an appointment, and explained my condition, the nurse should have told me at that point that I needed to make an appointment at the downtown office because nothing could be done for me at the Highland office. I feel like I was deceived.…
