The Gateway is Salt Lake City's only open-air mall and opened for the '02 Winter Olympics. Visit the Olympic Legacy Plaza, Clark Planetarium, Discovery Gateway, and Historic Union Pacific Depot.

This mall is completely outdoors. If the weather is bad, the shopping is too. Head over to City Creek Mall if that's the case.

Taking kids to fountain and needing a validation? The closest is Starbucks in Barns and Noble. The Starbucks outside by Ben and Jerry's does not validate.

Save your validation cards, they will take them even if expired. Happy Sumo and Tucanos for food. Body Shop, Brookstone, Apple Store, Sur La Table, And Urban Outfitters for shopping.
