RUN AWAY!. If I could give this place no stars, I would. When I walked in, I instantly mistrusted the sincerity of the place. I should have gone with my gut. Brought my dog in for a 'routine' exam because of a free promotional offer. All of a sudden my 'free' exam was costing me $173 and they wanted me to buy into a Urine culture for $130, antibiotics for $40 and recommendation to purchase special dog food in the attached PetSmart on top of that.

Boy are these guys good at the upsale. Luckily I trust my local vet more and went to him for a second opinion before plucking down more cash. To be honest, I feel bad that I went for the 'free' deal instead of going to Park City Animal Clinic for her checkup in the first place.

Banfield had recommended a blood workup which is fine if they were going to read the results honestly. Took the results to my vet who pointed out discrepancies in the findings. IE if she had a UTI like they said, her counts would be up in places where they were 'normal'.

My vet - Carl Prior- did recommend antibiotics to be on the safe side but instead of $65 it was $23 and said we don't need a urine culture unless I notice problems in a couple of weeks. btw, the urine culture would be $40 not $130. God, I hate offices that claim to be discount and then try to rape you by saying the situation is urgent and must be taken care of 'today'. And one other thing, while the Banfield doc was doing his exam he said he spotted a foxtail in my dog's ear and started rooting around for it with forcepts (he had actually tried to talk me into sedating her!). He pulled out a little piece of one and couldn't find anything else. I thought he was just being a concerned doc and it was going to be part of the free exam. They tried to charge me $28 after the fact! I refused to pay because they hadn't disclosed a charge up front and fortunately, they waived the fee.

Stay away from the Banfield in SLC. Trust your neighborhood vet!

unprofessional, uncaring. We've taken our cat to this place a number of times now, hoping that the treatment we and our cat were getting would improve, but as of today we give up. It is obvious that the staff, from the receptionist to the vets, could give a damn about the health, safety, or suffering of our cat and we will keep looking for a better place.

Dissatisfied Customer. I took my cat in a week ago because she was not feeling well and urinating everywhere. After spending an entire day without getting a decent urine sample, I authorized blood to be drawn. When I picked her up, she was stinky, wrapped in a towel I had given her all urinated. Nothing had been accomplished. A few days later, I CALLED.. they didn't, to be told she has diabetis. It's almost a week later, and I have not gotten any calls of concern to treat her. And I'm left needing to take her elsewhere, so that professionals can get her treated right away. I'm appalled at the service and find how rude. If u are needing a good place to go, I would seek elswhere.
