Editorial Review for Tahoe Rim Trail – by Stephanie Rosenbaum
Overview
Hikers, horseback riders, cross-country skiiers and mountain bikers can enjoy the many wonders of this remarkable trail. The trail offers backcountry hiking and camping at its best: magnificent scenery, well-marked trails and a pristine view of the mountains, lakes, meadows and wildlife that make Tahoe unique.
The Experience
The trail gets the bulk of its travel in the summer months after the snow has melted, usually mid-June through late October. Look for alpine wildflowers in July and brilliant fall colors in September and October. The trail can be accessed by numerous trailheads located all around Lake Tahoe. Campground sites as well as backcountry camping are available.
