Some of my favorites are Pumpkin Chocolate Chip and Lemon Bread...YUM!!!!! They also have hearty lunches. I make sure to stop in whenever I am in Salt Lake City. Say hello to Lynne when you visit. :)
Enjoy hearty loaves, sweet treats, soups and sandwiches at this rustic yet urbane Holladay bakery..
The Scene
Like stepping into an authentic flour mill. The high-plains Montana wheat used for baking is stone ground daily at the huge steel contraption just inside the door. Breads are wrapped and stacked neatly on shelves, and pastries glisten under glass. A sprawling mural of golden wheat fields makes you feel like you're truly in the Midwest.
The Goods
The breads are luscious and low in fat--most of the baked goods contain no eggs, oil or cholesterol. In addition to nine-grain, oatmeal, Grandma's White and honey whole-wheat breads, you can choose from spicy jalapeno corn bread with cheddar, scrumptious sourdough loaves with artichoke pesto, and moist, sweet cinnamon-swirl bread with chunks of apple and glazed with syrup. If savory's your thing, the roast beef, tomato and horseradish sandwich will satisfy. The cream-of-chicken soup, chunky with broccoli, is soothing--just like Grandma would make.
