only in Utah.... There is a reason no ther theaters have assigned seats; it starts fights! People come in after the movie has already started demanding "their" seat from people who had been waiting patiently since before the theater opened. There were THREE problems with this in my theater for just one show. MAYBE it would have been ok if anyone had bothered to mention that it worked this way, but instead the phone ordering through moviefone didn't even give me a choice of seats, the ticket seller didn't tell me to look at my ticket, neither did the ticket taker who did bother to card me (I'm 30 and wasn't even carded for Fear and Loathing in Las Vefas when I was 16). Now I know why every other theater was booked solid for this weekend, but there were still tickets at the Gateway. Total BS!

Great, comfortable theater. We frequent this theater because if it's location, but also because no other theater in the area compared. You can choose your seats when you buy your tickets online or at the box office. The seats are roomy and there's never a problem with seeing the screen. the temperature is comfortable, with plenty of ventilation. My only complaint is that the volume is almost always just a touch too loud.

customer service needs to improve at Gateway Megaplex. I had an unpleasant experience at Gateway theater yesterday when I went to see a movie. I asked the cashier for a senior ticket and she said "I don't think so!'" Asking what the problem was after I was completely embarassed in front of the oher people in line, she curtly said "Well, you have to be 65 to get a senior ticket" To that, I said "all of the other theaters in the city provide senior pricing at 62". (I happen to be 63) .

I think I will continue to patronize the Carmack and the other theaters that don't treat their seniors so harshly and with steeper restrictions. ;-((

Editorial Review. Twelve sparkling downtown theaters--plus an IMAX screen--all featuring digital sound.

SAFE FOR SENIORS. I HAVE BEEN GOING HERE SINCE I MOVED BACK TO SLC IN 2001. GATEWAY REMINDS ME OF SAN DIEGO. AS A WOMAN ALONE I FEEL SAFE AND I CAN WANDER AROUND AFTER THE SHOW. I LOVE THIS THEATER AND ITS LOCATION! I LOVE THE FACT THAT I CAN ALSO TAKE THE TRAX!
