Tips for Little America Hotel

Best Hotel I've stayed at. Last week my wife and I visited Salt Lake City for two nights. When my wife walked into our room at Little America she fell in love with it. It was HUGE and CLEAN and very well decorated with great view. We have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world...like the Waldorf in New York, Queen Elizabeth in Montreal, and Royal Orleans in New Orleans...and other top hotels in virtually every large American and Canadian city...and many nice hotels in Europe...but we decided that our room at Little America was the BEST place we have ever stayed. Also the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and the casual restaurant served wonderful reasonable priced breakfasts. We didn't try the other restaurants or bar but they looked nice too. This will be the only place we will stay from now on when visiting Salt Lake City.

Rich appointments and a traditional steak-and-seafood menu harken back to earlier times.. The Scene
Reminiscent of an English manor house--dark wood moldings, button-tufted leather chairs, chandeliers and built-in bookcases--the dining room has the elegant touch of bygone days. Starched white tablecloths and fresh flowers adorn each table.

The Food
Everything is well-prepared and presented. Appetizers include jumbo shrimp cocktail and sauteed mushrooms, as well as French onion soup, chowder and soup of the day. Among the entrees, steaks predominate, from the Little America pepper steak to a 16-ounce T-bone or eight-ounce filet mignon. Each is incredibly tender and cooked to perfection. If you prefer seafood, the fresh poached salmon or broiled Alaskan halibut and shrimp are exceptional. Dinners include tossed greens, a medley of fresh baby vegetables and a baked potato. Dessert selections are tempting: berry tart, peach melba, cheesecake or tiramisu.

Peppercorn Dressing. Their Peppercorn/sour cream salad dressing is to kill for! Filet Mignon is very tender and taste is outstanding. The Little America Ribeye steak is the best I've had. It has an absolutely YUMMIE marinade.

Best Dining in SLC!. If I remember correctly, there are 3 different parts of the restaurant: The bar, the "family" side, and the "expensive/fancy" side being the best. I took my girl friend to the "fancy" side for Prom and we had a wonderful time. Great food, good service, and a romantic setting make for one great restaurant.

There's nothing little about it.. The best value hotel in Salt Lake, Utah, and maybe even the country. Period. No other hotel even comes close. Kid-friendly. Best pool I've ever been in, it's big, VERY warm, and indoor and outdoor.

Hit The Holiday Buffet. If they are still offering holliday buffets at the Little America I would highly recomend it. My family went there for Father's Day several years ago and the food was awesome. They had everything from Prime Rib to chocolate-dipped strawberrys as big as my fist. It was wonderful.

Nice hotel. Before we moved to Salt Lake we stayed here a few times. The hotel has nice, comfortable rooms for a very decent price. There is ample parking in the structure and their restuarant has good food for cheap. The hotel is located in a convienent area.

American all the way. when I'm craving comfort food-whether a hot turkey dinner with potoatoes, stuffing, gravy and cranberries, or a hot roast beef sandwich, or prime rib, it has to be Little America. No, it's not just for the geriatric crowd--we are in our 20's and love it!The service is always good, the food is always good, and the dinner rolls are out of this world. We always have to take some home. Portions are large, meals traditional, and prices reasonable. Even if there's a wait, the hotel lobby and shops are lovely. We prefer the coffee shop dining room to the other dining room at the hotel.
