Best Dim Sum in Utah!. I've eaten in China towns in several major US cities, and Ahn Hong compares very favorably with the best. Prices incredibly cheap, food excellent, and on a Saturday you'll find 4-5 generation Chinese families out for brunch - Grandmas and kids all talking loudly and gumming the best dim sum in town.
Top-rate dim sum and other Chinese specialties served up fresh and fast..
The Scene
Located in a strip mall off State Street, Café An Hong isn't much to look at. Inside, the walls are salmon colored and sparsely decorated with Chinese artwork. A fish tank near the entrance holds live crabs that look like they've lived there a while.
The Food
The menu is similar to what you find at most Chinese-American restaurants. Vegetables are fresh and cooked so they're crisp, not mushy. The moo shu pork is a delicious choice, served on pancakes with sweet hoisin sauce. The shrimp Szechuan style is pleasantly spicy and the shrimp is cooked to perfection. But the star of the menu is the dim sum--you can make a meal of the tasty little morsels. Try the shrimp rice roll, "har kow" or soft pork and vegetable bun. Or mix and match for an interesting contrast in flavors and textures.
best and cheapest. I am a Chinese. They have the best dim-sum in SLC. Go there on Sat and Sun afternoon to try their dim-sum. Their food is very traditional and cheap.
Not so great.. I have tried this place two times just to see if the first time was a mistake. The waiter had dirty fingernails and a really long pinky nail. The food was pretty bland and I had to wait a long time to get seated even though they weren't busy
