A yurt excursion has to be one of the most memorable meals you'll ever try. Individuals with an adventurous spirit can ski or snowshoe through the woods at the Solitude Mountain Resort to this warm, Genghis Kahn hut for a gourmet, five-course meal prepared. The menu varies constantly, and the yurt accommodates about 20 people at a time. Coffee and water are the only beverages provided, but guests may bring their own bottled wine. Since you only have to ski about 1/3 of a mile to get to the Yurt, beginners don't have much difficulty, and you can arrange to rent cross-country skis or snowshoes right there on the premises. The Yurt only operates during the winter months, depending on the snow conditions, and it is wildly popular—reservations are a must. It's open seven days a week during the winter, with one seating per evening, beginning at 5:45.
