Concept is great. This is a concept that not only is ingenious, but given the Utah culture/laws, is reason to celebrate. The idea of beer and food casually consumed while watching a movie isn't odd except for the fact that you're not doing it at home but in an actual theater! The beer and food are both good, not great. The movie selection is offbeat and often independent oriented. Service leaves a bit to be desired, but I'm getting used to that in this town. Also, be forewarned that there is definately a crunchy, pseudo-hippie, leftest vibe here which often means people taking themselves way too serious. My advice: concentrate on your date, the beer, and the movie.
convenient time occupier. Fun idea - great beers! Had the veggie burger - yummy, but the bison bratwurst was dry and lacking
Best place in town for a movie!.
Good food + beer in a movie theater. Doesn't get much better than that.
Their pizzas and sandwiches are very good, and they have an excellent selection of good beer, especially the local, microbrewed stuff.
Fun movies, great food, neighborhd spot. Brewvies is a great feature in SLC's downtown. Neighborhood feel, with a terrific menu and beer selections. Fun, avant garde movie selection. A great experience! Great date night spot.
the great escape. this is one of the highlights of slc. great atmosphere, great place to relax with a movie and a beer after a long week.
The Best Reason to be 21!.
I turned 21 at the beginning of this year, and went to a few bars and stuff. But, then we went to Brewvies! I absolutely adore it!
Great food, great staff, great flicks and on top of this BEER in all different types and flavors! What can be better?
The only problem, the kitchen closes at 10, so no food for the later shows. But this is my one gripe. Everything else- perfect. moe
Oh how I love MY Brewvies!. My boyfriend and I go to Brewvies about twice a week at minimum. I guess we go there pretty often, b/c they always and bring us a pitcher of Bud Light right as we sit down. The staff is fun to talk to, and the atmosphere is FABULOUS. Very casual. No dark, smokey, noisey bar here. This is the BEST place to meet some friends for some pizza and a few drinks. The food is good too. The portobello sandwich is great and their salads are very fresh. A wonderful atmosphere for a night out.
Dinner and a movie: under one roof!.
Weve only gone for the dinner-and-movies, which is a real bargain on Wednesdays, especially if youve donated to KCPW; with your membership card you can watch for free that day! Surprisingly, some of the food is a step up from your standard pub faretry the spinach dip or a salad with their pesto-vinaigrette dressing. Course you can buy salty-greasy food as well, all of which goes well with beer (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). You can choose from a great variety of local brews. I didnt count the exact number but there were at least a half dozen available just on tap.
Fish n chips were spot-on for the two times weve ordered it; both were cooked perfectly, although it was the pizza-wedge kind of fish. Make sure the popcorns fresh before you buy it. At our 5:45pm movie I think it was a little stale.
