Editorial Review for Delicate Arch (Arches National Park) – by Peter Behle

Overview
Delicate Arch is a sight to see, and the location offers a nice vista of the surrounding Arches National Park area. The La Sal Mountains can be seen in the distance, along with other various buttes and ridges. If you want an up-close view you're going to have to work for it. Delicate Arch can be reached via a moderate-to-strenuous three-mile round-trip hike on sliprock. Facilities completed in 1996 accommodate non-hikers with roadside views of Delicate Arch--but you're still a mile away.

The Experience
Jurassic entrada sandstone in this area has been split into hundreds of fins, where erosion has created countless natural arches that are simply breathtaking.

User Reviews for Delicate Arch (Arches National Park)

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

How many postcards are there of this incredible natural wonder? But nothing beats making the hike and seeing Delicate Arch with your own eyes. The park is crazy busy in the spring and summer--if you can swing it, go in the off-season. There's plenty more to see beyond Delicate Arch, too. Take some time to explore the area--there's no place on Earth like this.

Pros: Incredible scenery

Cons: Hot/crowded in summer
