Do not go here. Kristy is terrible with color and when I tried to call to let her know how badly my color had faded it took her a week to get back to me and another week to get me in. She wouldnt refund my money because it had been past two weeks, which was laughable as the reason it was past two weeks is because she would not return my call. When I finally saw her she told me that "red fades easily" as if after 30 years of coloring my hair I was not aware of this. I reminded her that the first time she colored my hair it had not faded like this had and she said that it "still looked good to her". Unfortunately it did not look good to me and I was out $130 for a terrible color that I now have to pay to have redone. She did offer to re color it, but with such animosity I was not comfortable having her touch my hair again. I had told her not to use Redken on my hair as this never works for me, and I know that this is what she used and would not admit to it. DO NOT GO HERE.
AWESOME Massage!!. Went for an hour and a half massage with Sarah, and she was wonderful! My aching neck and shoulders are happy, happy!
Great Massage....Terrible Atmosphere. I was given a gift certificate to this spa for xmas. When I first arrived I noticed how small it looked which made me nervous. I was taken to the changing room, which is actually just a bathroom with lockers. I then had to wait while the front desk girl did some laundry. She then took me downstairs to the steam/massage room. I was told I could relax here or could go into the steam room, I was a little confused I thought they would have at least had some sort of relaxation room besides what looked like a patio table and parenting magazines. I was never offered a beverage. I was then taken into the massage room by Lacey who did an excellant job. I would love to get another massage from her but at a better spa like Akasha.
The Spa Also Hosts The Best Permanent, Japanese Hair Straightener in Utah: Annie O' Connor. The Shirodhara Day Spa also features Utah's premier Japanese Hair Straightener---Annie O' Connor. She uses the very best product---Liscio---and has been certified in this method. She's really nice, professional, and does a great job. Don't go to somebody who hasn't been well trained or who uses an inferior product. (always ask about the straighteners training and product). She can do ethnic hair. Mine was horribly fuzzy before Annie and after a botched job by another stylist. Annie made it smooth and straight. I believe she has more than five years experience in Thermal Reconditioning (also called Japanese Hair Straightening) and uses deep moisturizers that actually make my hair feel healthier than before the process. No more frizzies for me---even in humid hot weather.
GREAT. I have been going to Shirodhara for the last year for all of my pampering needs (ie: pedicures, manicures, hair, etc.), and they are very professional and friendly. The girls that work there help me right away and will go above and beyond--for example, when I got my hair done last week, I didn't feel that my stylist had gotten my highlights close enough to the roots, so she went in and fixed it at no charge!
Great!. The staff is friendly. I always get my bikini waxes here. It's the only place I have found that uses blue wax instead of hot yellow wax, and it's much less painful! I always come here when I visit from New York. Highly recommended!
Small, comforting and thorough, this South City spa with a cottage atmosphere is the best place to go on a rainy day..
The Scene
A neighborhood place, this spa is easy to miss when driving down busy Fort Union Boulevard (look across the street from the Whitmore Library). Built into a renovated cottage, the retreat looks like a pretty sachet bag (you can smell aromatherapy from the parking lot). Treatment areas branch off from the main salon like small bedrooms--some are tucked into the back of the building, while others are downstairs on the basement level.
The Services
The menu's selection includes mud wraps, hydrotherapy, glycolic facials and detoxification. The signature service is the Ayurvedic Oil Treatment, a supposedly ancient healing practice that involves a fine stream of hot oil poured on the forehead. Also unique is the spa's meticulous approach to something as simple as a manicure--count on extra lotion and a hand massage. When scheduling a facial, allow plenty of time for repeated layers of very deep exfoliation.
Love it. My friends and I go to several spas and like this one the best. Pedicures, massages you name it. Whenever we have a gift idea to give, it is a gift certificate for a spa package there. We have done day packages as well as pedicures and manicures. The service is excellent, pampering is divine and very professional. It is a place we frequent again and again. And the polish they use lasts a long time. Definitely a place to be pampered at.
