Fish Tech Outfitters
by FlyBoy2 at Citysearch
Took up Fly-fishing in August 2009, after a 15 year hiatis.
I was introduced to Fish Tech Outfitters by my Brother-in-law.
Enjoy going there and I have never been disappointed. Feel they carry everything I need.
My only complaint is they are not open 24 hours a day, which would be great!
Great staff !
- Pros: Excellent Service, Great Products
- Cons: Not open 24 hours a day
Excellent - as good as it gets.

We usually come to Little Cottonwood Canyon in the winter to ski, but on our first visit in September made an on-the-spot decision to try the fly fishing here... only all our rods, reels, etc were still back east. Stopped by Fish Tech and found everything needed - completely equipped in short order and had a great time. Left the new gear in the closet in Utah so we'll be good to go whenever we come out. Great shop.
Two thumbs way up!

Great service, and a very friendly staff. The are very knowledgeable about all the products they carry and they will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. If I'm not tying my own flies I'm buying them from Fish Tech.
- Pros: Knowledgeable staff, Friendly Service
- Cons: None
Best Fly Shop in UT

Having worked in a fly shop and guided in the NW for several years (Kaufmann's Streamborn) and been fly fishing for over 30 years, I have a pretty good feel for good and bad fly shops. Fish Tech may not be the biggest but it one of the best I've seen. Most importantly, the service is phenomenal. Can't buy that on the internet.
THE Pro Shop in SLC
by bcolvin at Citysearch
I have been flyfishing for over 20 years, and Fish Tech is the place to go if you're looking for a pro shop in the Salt Lake area. Byron, the owner, is as knowledgeable an angler as you'll find anywhere, and invented such fly patterns as the "Killer" that can be found in about every still water fly fisherman's book of goodies. Great staff and products.
- Pros: Staffed by excellent people
