The Scene – This is no ordinary beer joint. The ubiquitous Bugs Bunny image--on faded signs, in neon lights and as stuffed toy rabbits tucked above the bar--tells you whose cotton bottom gave this longtime oasis its name. But that's the only thing stuffy about this popular watering hole, where everyone seems like a regular. Feel free to join in on a game of pool or toss some darts. – – The Food – Best known for the garlic burger, the Cotton Bottom also serves cheese dogs, Malibu chicken and grilled ham and cheese, all accompanied with salty chips and savory…

by Fun girl at Citysearch
I went to the CB as I have many times before but this time I was expecting the same aweful service ( i only tolerated because i love the food) but this time was treated GREAT??? I mentioned the old crappy service and was informed that they finally fired the beast of a waitress that has worked there so long! All I can say is it's about dang time, I had a good time with greatfood and a cold coors! I am excited to tell all my friends that the CB is new and improved due to the new fun young staff!!!! But can i please get some fries??
- Pros: Amazing Burger fun place fun staff
- Cons: No french fries
A lot of character
by Joe173 at Citysearch
This place has a lot of character, which I think is what has sustained it through the years. If you're looking for a place steeped in local tradition, this is it. If you're looking for exceptional food, there are better options.
Cotton Bottom is no longer "smoke filled" since, as of Jan 1, 2009, the Utah Indoor Clean Air Act also applies to taverns and private clubs. As of March 2, 2009 there was no detectable smoke odor.
The server was friendly, professional and efficient. I was there at 4:30pm (the bar was full and the tables about half full) and there was only one server/barkeep, but he kept up well with the patrons.
The garlic burger was above average but not exceptional. It was a little dry and lacked excitement. It had two layers of processed cheese--one orange (American) and one white (faux Swiss). It would really benefit from a thick layer of real cheese. Contrary to previous reviews, it was not served on sourdough. Rather, it was served on a large hunk of hoagie roll, much akin to french bread (only softer).
They do not serve fries at the Cotton Bottom, which I missed--only plain Lays chips. On the upside, the draft beer was ICE cold.
- Pros: Very cold beer, unique ambience
- Cons: Limited seating
