Lone Star Taqueria

Offering great fish tacos, good tunes and a friendly atmosphere.

  • Homemade White Corn Tortillas
  • Daily Fresh Fish
  • Vegetarian Available

Lone Star Taqueria envisions itself as an isolated shack somewhere in the Sonora Desert. You know, the kind where a grizzled hombre staggers to the door looking for shade and sustenance, and finds just that, plus fun and good tunes on the sound system at the Lone Star Taqueria. Their menu offers authentic Mexican cuisine such tacos and burritos with your choice of roast pork, steak, chicken, vegetables and more.

"Best Fish Taco" according to Sunset Magazine and the Deseret News.

Editorial Review for Lone Star Taqueria – by Robyn Galbos

The Scene
Outside, there's a small patio surrounded by a wooden fence decorated with hubcaps and old Western-style boots. A wrecked car is covered with spray paint and stickers. The interior is just as colorful--metal-topped tables, multicolored banners hanging from the ceiling and heavy, blue wooden chairs.

The Food
Some of the most authentic fish tacos you'll find around town, only the fish is marinated and grilled--not deep-fried as it is in Baja. They're topped with shredded cabbage, tomato, cilantro and jalapeño mayonnaise. Other fillings include roasted pork, steak, shredded beef, chicken, veggies and egg. The huge burritos are stuffed with rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, cilantro, tomato, onions and cheese. Any burrito can be smothered with the house's delicious chili verde for an extra dollar. All menu items come with homemade salsas ranging from mild to spicy. In addition to sodas, there are imported beers for $2.50.

This is the ONLY place to get a fish taco. I will never get one anywhere else, the sauce that goes with is to die for...also the fish burrito is delicious. This place is a gem.

Pros: fresh fish daily, quick, DELICIOUS, patio, authentic

Amazing. Incredible. Fantastic. Great. The list could go on... If you want to better your day and your life, go here. It is the best!!!

Pros: Food is amazing, service is fast and friendly, ambience has a nice, laid-back vibe!

Cons: Just a personal con, it's far away from my house. I may relocate just to get closer to this fine eatery!!
