The Scene
Enjoy the spacious, yet cozy, room, with wood beams and wide windows overlooking forested slopes. Wildflowers or wild and woolly snowboarders, depending on the season, lend a splash of local color. Any time of year, welcoming waiters and the aroma of a wood-burning oven tempt you to kick back and nosh awhile.
The Food
Entrees are hearty and good and appetizers are original; order several to hit the menu's highlights. The Napa wrap--shrimp or chicken sauteed with black beans, corn and a touch of chipotle, splashed with salsa and swathed in cabbage--is sweet, spicy and crunchy. Beans and corn turn up again on the hummus platter, along with almond butter and warmed pita. Wood-fired pizzas are exemplary, with the requisite crisp crust and a choice of traditional toppings. The New York strip is tasty; the fire-roasted chicken breast, satisfying; the apple-ginger-stuffed pork chop, appealing.

This summer I got married at Solitude Resort - we got married on the Lawn of the Inn and had the reception at Moonbeam Lodge (the chefs from Creekside prepared the food down there). I learned to ski at Solitude when I was 5. When my husband and I got engaged, we decided that we wanted to do an out of town wedding and Solitude seemed like the best place. Our families and friends all flew in from all over the place and really loved the resort. Kimi manages Creekside along with events and some of the other eateries. She did the most amazing job of giving us everything that we asked for and worked so hard to make sure everything went perfectly the day of the wedding. She did such a good job that the day of our wedding our planner who came in from Los Angeles was able to take the morning off because so much was already done. Kimi has a very calm personality and was so easy to work with. She also has a LOT of culinary knowledge. I thought that the food would be just so-so, but it was so delicious. People were commenting the next day how good the food was, and some of our guests are very tough critics. Kimi and her team did the best job, and my husband and I were so pleased with the way that everything turned out. I highly recommend using Solitude Resort for your wedding venue.

I can't give the place a bad rating...the one time I have eaten there it was awesome. Unfortunately, despite what their website and the sign outside the door says, Creekside is NOT open year round. Few things are more disappointing than making the long drive up the canyon for breakfast only to discover you'll have to make other plans. Be sure you call before making the same mistake.

Great brunch spot. Less crowded than Silver Fork Lodge and better. Terrific food and great customer service.

Where to Sit:
Tempted by the flowery patio? Bring a sweater. Temperatures plunge after sunset. In the winter, pack a parka: This is slopeside dining.
When to Go:
In summer, Creekside serves brunch on Sunday, as well as dinner Wednesday-Saturday. During ski season, it's open for lunch and dinner every day.
