Tips for Mountain West Eyecare

January 28, 2013

My family and I were repeat customers and were excited to have a good eye doctor close bye. However my second eye appoint turned out to be a nightmare. I received an eye appointment in DEC, however I was not eligible to purchase new frames until the first of the year. So I went ahead and selected my frames and told them I would like to receive a phone call the first of they year so they could to activate the order.

I never received a phone, and I called my self. I was put on hold, told I needed a eye exam. I explained I was just there about 2 week ago and received an exam. They Lady (who claims to the manager) never called me back. I had to call her. I was then told we will order them. after two additional attempts and dealing the so called manager. I went somewhere else, where I received a GREAT customer service. To top it off that was from Walmart eye care.

I would stay away from Mountain West Eye care until they learn how to treat customers.

Go elsewhere for less shady business practice.. My wife went in for a new prescription. With our insurance she paid $10 for the exam and $25 for the lens and frame. She chose an anti-glare covering for which they charged $25. Our total was given of just over $97. When asked about the discrepancy the receptionist told us it was taxes on the lens and frame. ($27+ dollars in taxes?!?)

If you need a new set of glasses, I suggest going somewhere that the business model seems a little less shady.
