*Caution* BEWARE. Horrible Customer Service. This has left such a bad taste in my mouth I am willing to pay the $200 again for the all day passes, all you can eat pizza/ Salad, drinks, and all the rides and games you could want for a family of 9 at another Fun center in Draper that has batting cages and go karts before I spend another $60 at the NickelCade. But this review is not about the business in Draper. Let's get to it. I am on a family vacation from another state, we came here to enjoy a nice day at the arcade while we beat the heat. This arcade may be cheap to enter and play but the machines that counts tickets stops counting and still takes your tickets. (Maybe they think kids won't know any better) Kids are smarter than that. Also when you try to get some assistance with the ticket machine the ever so rude attendant named Sheldon will point at the sign and tell you to read it. He talks to you like you are dumb and then walks away before you are even done with your questions. After I decided to try the machine again it started doing the same thing. I went and got Sheldon again and he said if you don't like this machine there is another one on the other side. This was his solution. So with all my faith lost in these amazing machines that are precise and never miss a beat and are error free I chose not to and hand counted my tickets, because according to their signage it reads use at own risk. I was not willing to risk another 400-500 tickets with a machine that obviously doesn't operate correctly. I feel if the ticket machines worked most of the time there would be no need to post signs and to have the attendant point it out every time you ask a question about the machine. SO when I took my 680 tickets that had not been short changed by the ticket machine to the counter and showed the attendant that they were counted out in unbroken strips of 10 and stacked nicely for him he told me I need to take it to the machine and have them (short counted) counted. I told him I was not going to do that because I was only gonna get ripped off again. He said he couldn't help me. I would have liked a customer service number to actually call in and complain about the lousy service and rudeness that came from one attendant. If I was the business owner of this arcade I would hire a secret shopper and clean house of rude employees like Sheldon. I am a 34 year old man, not a child and for him to talk to anyone even a child or an adult the way he talked to me was border line abusive. I had to mind my manners and walk away from the situation before I ruined my family outing with an out burst. I am above that and do not like making scenes. So I handed the tickets over to the kids and walked away before I showed my children how a rude person can upset make their Dad a jerk. I will not sink that low and I do not wish to upset the other patrons on my account. As Sheldon is going to talk down to them and have his "I am in power" mini trip and start abusing. SO if you do enter the Arcade Enter at own Risk and they need to post a sign about how rude the employees are and how crappy the customer service is and have an attendant point it out before you pay to use the facilities.
Much better than before.
Despite an issue with the attendant in the beginning (we were trying to take advantage of the earlier invitation to try the Nickelcade and the attendant demanded a copy of the review for each person in the group), the games once we got in were working for the most part. We decided to take $10 in nickels. My wife took $5 for herself and our one year-old, while the 6 year-old and 9 year-old got the other $5. I took a few nickels from each, about $1 worth.
There were a few games that were busted and not marked, but they were in the minority. In the past, whenever I've gone to a Nickelcade it's been with the expectation that about half the games would be broken, thus increasing the cost of each game. This time around, we all had a blast. The kids and wife got plenty of tickets and had a great time. I was able to enjoy some nostalgic moments with Galaga, Pacman, and some other beloved favorites I haven't seen in ages. Even the one year-old was able to enjoy a horse ride a couple times. Overall, I'd highly recommend eating somewhere else first since the prices are about what you'd expect at a movie theater for movie-type food. There's plenty of places to eat nearby and that way you don't get hungry kids or spend a fortune on food.
True to their promise. my grandkids always complain that they want to go to nickelcade whenever we drive by since we live in Taylorsville it is often that I hear their complaints. I decided to check online to see what people thought and after reading a couple of the reviews I decided to try it since they had a free offer if you brought in the review. I got me and both my grandkids in for free with the printout and was already excited. we spent a good 3 hours here and even i had fun playing some of the games. They probably spent most of the time at the price center since there was too much to look at. I recommnend this place for those who have grandkids or kids of their own and want to get them out of the house. I spent 10 dollars total on nickels which allowed all three of us to play for a couple of hours. i am glad i went to try it out. i will be taking them here often since it helps me tire them out. i recommend printing out the review so you can get your group in for free. that way you can spend more money on nickels. maybe you will like taking your kids here too.

As a representative of Taylorsville Nickelcade we try our best by having a technician come in everyday to fix our games. Sometimes there are some games that require a couple of extra days to fix but we attempt to keep on top of fixing the majority of the problems. Any games that have errors will be marked as out of order by our staff.
The majority of our games require 1-2 nickels. The most expensive game at our location is Deal or No Deal which requires $0.50 when other arcades cost $2.00 for a game. Our Dance Dance Revolution game and Time Crisis 3 game are our second most expensive games that require $0.20 per game.
The employees of our location are constantly sweeping and cleaning down the games during down-time. We try to keep our location clean and tidy for the safety of the children that come to our arcade.
As a representative of Taylorsville Nickelcade we would like to offer anyone who is doubtful or curious to how our location is to come into our Nickelcade and see for yourself with FREE ADMISSION with a printout of this review.
Great Birthday Party!. I had a birthday party for my daughter last Friday and it was great! We had a basic party which was really cheap and brought out own food which was nice because we only had to pay around 20 dollars for over 20 kids and adults to come to the party, rent the room for 2 hours, and get their own cup of nickels included in the price. The place looks really nice and it is constantly being remodeled. Great selection of games that are cheap so I don't have to worry about how long my kids will be entertained for when I give them a cup of nickels.
A couple weeks ago I took my son here, about a quarter of the machines never worked while most of the others only worked if you dropped a few extra nickels in the machine.
The staff was unfriendly and it was very dirty there. We did spend about an hour there and I only spent like five bucks which bumps it up to a two-star. Plan on 20-25 cents a machine and don't get your hopes up when you see a machine cuz it might not work and you will be just fine!
As a representative we would like to apologize for your dissatisfaction in our location. We try our best by having a technician come in everyday to fix our games. An arcade for budget-minded fun..
If you are looking for a place to use up the change cluttering your dresser or adding too much weight to your pockets, a trip to one of this arcade's east- or westside locations can give you a chance to try some budget-minded fun. Nickels? you say. That's right. Nickelcade has over 300 games and no single game costs more than two nickels.
