Friendly Owners, Nice Atmosphere, Kids and Adults Alike Seemed to Enjoy Going In. In a scaled down summary of my experience I can say that I live in the Pacific Northwest and am back in Utah for a short time. Today I headed out with a list of all of the Pool Halls on City Search and by far I have to admit that this was my favorite place to have visited. I rented a table for $4.00 an hour or so, saw a mixture of people around from teenagers, mom's and dad's with their children, people in their 20's and early 30's, and there was always plenty of tables open (this could be different on Friday or Saturday nights?). The things that really got me here was that the movie, "Pool Hall Junkies" was mostly filmed at this location so it sparked a definite memory of that movie being in the place. The other part is the owner. You can tell by the upkeep and service of the place that demonstrates how much the owner likes running the business. The felt looked to have been played on quite a bit but I've been in bars with far worse conditions. I'd say on 1-10, my own table (table 15) was going to need some new felt in a couple of months or so. The annoyance of having the railing and chairs in my way during certain shots was bothersome as well, but I'm also 6'2 which not a lot of people stand my height. Before I left the owner actually struck up some conversation with me having noticed that I was from out of state. This has been the one and only time anyone has done this in Utah period. I can say that I'll be back there to shoot again and out of the Pool Hall's I've been to, this definitely ranks pretty high up there. I'm a very hard man to please, but the service, free icewater, and care the owner's put into the place speaks volumes out of anywhere else I've been. I'd recommend this place with 10 stars if I could. A bit of a rough neighborhood, but when you step in, you soon forget all about what's outside.
