Affordable, Nice Facilities.
I've lived at Carrington Square for nearly two years, and was surprised by the other, 1-star, review. I definitely think for the money it is a good value, well-maintained, and a safe place to live. I can't give it 5 stars for only two reasons: noise (I can hear my neighbors sometimes, and I hear the train that comes through nightly around 10:30 pm, though it does not wake me up if I'm asleep by then), and not everyone cleans up after their pets like they should.
I came to the area because I wanted to live near a family member a few miles away. Other than Carrington Square, there are not many apartment complexes in the area. Those I could find (five to ten miles away), were pretty scary, really pricey, or didn't have features I needed. For example, there was graffitti, matted carpet, pet and/or smoke odors, no air conditioning, no dishwasher, and/or dilapidated exteriors. In contrast, Carrington Square has well-maintained exteriors, up-to-date interiors, and responsive management and maintenance (I once needed my closet shelf fixed and they came the next day, one day the pool was about to overflow and a maintenance guy was there within minutes of me notifying them).
The buildings are fairly new-- mid 1990s, I'd guess. I like the floorplans I've seen. I live in a one-bedroom one-bath on the second floor, my current rent is $710/month including water. The floorplan I have is called The Oxford. There is a lot of closet space and a walk-in pantry with Washer/Dryer hookups. There is also a storage closet on the balcony. A feature I've appreciated is that the heating and central AC work like a charm.
The complex has two playgrounds and two swimming pools, a landromat (in case you don't have your own washer, I guess), a basketball court, a picnic area, a weight and excersize room, reserved covered parking, and unlimited uncovered parking. Smoking is not allowed in the buildings. The neighbors are nice, the neighborhood kids love playing on the playgrounds and large lawn spaces, and I've not seen any activity that would warrant police visits (they drive through the complex a few times a night to monitor). I feel safe walking around at night.
I'm sorry the other person had such a bad experience. But I wanted to let everyone know that Carrington Square has been a great place for me!
do not move here!!!. My husband and I lived at another Bach property for almost 2 years and had a wonderful experience. We moved to Carrington square in Nove 08 and since then have been harrased and had the police called on us numerous times. I have 2 young boys and stay at home with them during the day and the downstairs neighbors have come up to complain too many times to count. We are not loud people, but this place is poorly built so you can hear everything above you. Do not move here! The maint is slow to getting to you and things are always going wrong. The office people are nice but not very helpful. Plus, the area is unsafe and low quality. This is NOT an exaggeration. Don't waste your money, go somewhere nicer and safer.
