SUPER GOOD FOOD!. I was kind of worried when I tried this place (based on the last review), but It was soooo good. The meat is very good - all white meat chicken breast - No mystery meat here. The salsa was different and spicy, but good. I loved the beans. Everything was cooked to perfection. The tortillas are thick and good! Try it!

ONE OF THE WORST EVER!!! DO NOT GO!!!!. This place is worse than any dive I've ever been to. I took my mother there for mother’s day. There was 6 of us and we had to sit a different tables since there larges table sits 4 people. I knew we were in trouble when I tasted the salsa that came with the small bowl of complimentary chips(if you want more you have to pay) and it tasted like it came straight from a can. I got the large combination plate and it was awful. The "meat" in the taco and tostada was not meat, but some sort of a mixture of who know what. The enchilada sauce was also straight from a can and the chili verde had about 3 pieces of meat in the whole burrito. And don't even get me started with the tasteless beans. And to top it all off, there was only one waitress working ON MOTHERS DAY!!! Took 20 minutes just to get our bill. NEVER AGAIN. I will stick with my all time favorite BLUE Iguana. I little bit more expensive, but there are always coupons out there for "buy one entree, get one free". There food is actually homemade and there's no limit on the amount of free chips and soda refills you can have. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO CHUBBY’S!!!!

Awesome dive!. This is one of those dive looking restaurants that I would have passed by (or not passed by because of the neighborhood) and just kept going without a second glance.Thankfully, it is a friends favorite place so I tried it.

My one question was, "Why haven't you ever dragged me here?!" The food is awesome. I would easily compare it to the Red Iguana except that it is cheaper, less crowded, and more comfortable. I was a little concerned at how ethnic it was because I don't speak a word of Spanish, but the waitress was very friendly.

Only way it is not perfect is the location and old looking building, but that just makes it a delicious diamond in the rough!

THIS PLACE IS STILL THE BEST. Well been going to Chubby.s almost 15 years I stumbled across them on a visit to the DMV (old location)

I have sinned and tried 2 competitors (big mistake)

the food at Chubby's is far better . I will never stray again.

The negative comments are probably from a jealous competitor

keep coming back. The food is above average and the prices are very reasonable but I love Chubby's because of the staff--they are friendly and fast and they take care of you. Come once and it's a slightly above average Mexican restaurant. Come once a week and it's more than the food. The menu has a lot of variety. Just be careful, the plate is hot.

might as well have gotten frozen food from the grocery. This place wasn't the best at all.. the salsa was like Pace Picante Sauce and the entree was below par... the red sauce was not the best either... I was not impressed...

This is my comfort food.. I've always been of the opinion that there are restaurants that may not look the most chic but offer great food at extremely reasonable prices, friendly staff, and a comfortable atmosphere. This restaurant offers all of these things. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered, they are always ready with recommendations and even though the place gets busy I never feel rushed. I always leave happy and full. I definitely recommend this place.

Cheap, simple, and "fattenings". Chubby's isn't anything fancy--it's just your typical greasy-spoon Mexican/American place with down-to-earth flavors (think Cheddar and Iceberg Lettuce) at very affordable prices. It's fast, it's hot, and it's very good. It's no Red Iguana, so don't go expecting authenticity, but if you're just looking for fast, cheap eats, this is the place. Good food, amazing value.

best kept secret in salt lake. This place is great the food and the low prices I would reccomend you go at a off peak time this place gets crowded and very busy at peak meal times I usually go at 11 am for lunch 4pm or 8pm for dinner
