The Food – Spicier Szechuan dishes are the specialty, but also look for various Mandarin and Cantonese entrees, which are milder and feature more delicate sauces. Among the specialties are Kung Pao dishes, with smoked red peppers fried until black then combined with the main ingredients, and Szechuan dishes, which use peppers and other spices mixed with garlic. Naturally, there are beef, seafood, poultry, pork, vegetable, and rice dishes, as well as combinations, family dinners, and special lunches.
So Delicious

David's Kitchen is to me by far the best Chinese food in Salt Lake City, and there pot-stickers are so delicious. The service is always great from the wait staff and you get your freshly cooked food made to order. I would highly recommend it, as the best in town.
- Pros: Delicious
- Cons: I can't find one
No gloppy sauce, just great food

Most Chinese food tastes like it's been sitting in a steam pan for a few hours. That's not the case at David's! All of the dishes are prepared fresh and actually cooked with the sauce - not just covered with it at the end. The previous location certainly added a bit of "edge" to the dining experience, but their new stand-alone building is great. There's lots of parking and seating. David himself is almost always there with suggestions and input and the staff always seems to be running and working hard. On the rare occasion they've forgotten something in our order, they are always quick to make it right.
- Pros: Really great food!
- Cons: Not for the linen table cloth crowd
Slow service. Great soup. Mediocre main dishes

Here is my lunch experience today at Davids kitchen:
After arriving we were seated and ordered soup and potstickers. They came quickly and were delicious. After that things began to go down hill. We received our main courses 40 minutes later and only after asking the waitress about our orders status. The food was not horrible but was by no means exceptional. I ordered Kung Pao chicken and found it to be bland with little flavor or spiciness.
Perhaps other dishes may be better but I could not recomend this restaurant based on my experience with the food and service today.
- Pros: Great soup and potstickers
- Cons: Slow service. Mediocre main courses.
