Would not go again.. We pulled up just as the two employees were finishing with a previous customer. We were waiting just outside the office door as employee #1 walks right past us without saying a word and waits for us to come into this office (that would have been a good time to say "come on inside our office and we'll get you started".

The other.... employee #2 yelled from inside their garage at my wife "HE'S IN THERE" which I guess is their courteous way to usher us into their office.

I have a newer Nissan Titan and required the emission and safety. I did not pass the safety inspection because of a 2" tear in my wiper blade. Really? That is grounds for a safety inspection failure?

I quickly asked if they could forego this so I could get on with my day and all employee #1 said "it's his call", as employee #2 just sat in his chair in the garage not saying a word.

No way I will go back. There is some simple common sense here with customer service - greet your customers with a friendly hello and a welcome. Use common sense and get your customer in and out of the process as quickly as possible. Neither of these guys had any personality what so ever - like I said, someone else will be getting my business from here on out.

Excellent experience!. Went today for both an emissions and safety check on a 10 year old car. Just moved to Utah and needed both inspections to get plates. I flunked the safety test - 2 side lights were out - but I'll get that fixed today.

Unlike the 2 negative reviews, I found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. I highly recommend them.

Emissions Xpress. Regarding the two negative reviews on this site, the Higway Patrol Safety Inspection Manual, p 34, Section H, states a vehicle if failed on the brake plate tester, must pass a later safety test on a brake plate tester. Few, if any, dealers own brake plate testers. They want to sell and repair cars not buy expensive brake testing equipment.

The dealer mentioned likely did a visuall inspection of the brakes and visually they passed. This does not mean the brakes would be working properly. That is why the Utah Highway Patrol endorses using a brake plate tester because it can catch problems visual inspections cannot.

Regaring the vehicle with the damaged trunk, it's difficult to say what the actual problem ws without seeing the vehicle. We agree a damaged trunk would have no bearing on a safety inspection.

Our technicians stand behind vehicles to determine if all pertinent lights and blinkers function properly. No one at our shop would turn someone away for a damaged trunk. Without seeing the vehicle, we assume there must have been something else wrong.

Often customers notice our tech is spending time focusing on an item and will come out to the test area and ask what's wrong. After explaining a headlight bucket or a tie rod (etc.) is loose, the customer sometimes asks, "Will that pass?" If we say no, sometimes they say, "I'll just take it elsewhere then." We certainly won't hold anybody's car hostage, and they leave.

Sometimes customers become angry when their car is failing, and we cannot control what they say about us.

Our technicians are trained to treat every customer with a positive, friendly attitude, and honestly. We want to treat our customers right. We certainly don't want to lose any customers.

We do no repairs and sell no parts. Therefore, none of our employees have an incentive to fail a vehicle with the purpose of selling the customer parts or repairs. In fact, if anything, our inclination would be to pass a vehicle so we don't have to re-test it again at our expense.

We realize we're in an industry that just can't make everybody happy. We wish we could. We (like every other inspection station) cannot promise every vehicle wll pass.

However we can promise every vehicle and customer will receive a fair and honest inspection, and friendly service

We'll definitely come here again.. We went down there to get our safety and emissions so we could get our new stickers. We kept grabbing the wrong papers out of our glove box, but they were very patient with us and showed us an example of the papers they needed.

Our car is a very old hand-me-down in need of many things. They started running the test and because the car failed the break test so badly they told us they wouldn't charge us. They explained what repairs we would need to do and let us know that the cost of the repairs would probably be more than the car is worth. We really appreciated their candor.

Would not recommend. When I called before I went there I felt they were very rude to me. But since there was a coupon I decided to give it a try. I have an older car that was rear ended so the trunk is slightly smashed in. It does not affect the lights or anything that makes the car run. When I got there they just stood standing and staring at it. I told them it passed last year in exactly the same condition, and they said they wouldn't pass it and why don't I go elsewhere. So I went right down the street and it passed right away. I was told by the second place that the condition of the trunk does not in anyway affect whether your car passes!

Emissions Express. The Emission express station on 3500 South has ignorant rude and unknowledeable employees. They not only failed my vehicle safety inspection but told me I needed new brakes or to have them adjusted. My vehicle has disk brakes that cannot be adjusted number one but number two when I took my vehicle to the brake shop nothing was wrong with my brakes. I actually had to have a highway patrol officer meet me at their shop to verify that nothing was wrong with them. The auto dealership by my home actually passed it so the highway patrol signed off on it. I not only had to pay the fee twice but the emissions express would not give me my money back for their faulty test.
