A functional motel for travelers keeping an eye on their pocketbooks.. The Scene
Just outside downtown Salt Lake City, this motel is directly across the street from TRAX, the new public light-rail system that makes it easy and fast to access downtown's shops, restaurants, conference centers and tourist destinations. The edifice is simple and the lobby is undersized, but the property is clean and the price is right. Overall, it's an excellent choice for budget-minded travelers.

The Details
Rooms are small but comfortable, and feature work desks. In addition to the guest rooms, the motel offers two suites with kitchenettes and separate living and sleeping areas. The outdoor seasonal pool is popular with children during the summer, while adults tend to hang out in the outdoor, year-round hot tub.
