Tips for Salt Lake Antiques

Treasure Hunt. I'm also surprised by the negative review. We bought a beautiful 1920s English deco mantle at Salt Lake Antiques. It had significant damage to one of the uprights and we were concerned about how well it could be restored. To our happy surprise, the mantle was stunning when they finished repairing (on site) and cleaning it. They flawlessly matched the wood and the carving. We literally can't see where the damage was. They were pleasant and professional. The only issue I have is that the store is so full and stacked upon stacked that it almost felt dangerous to wander around, and it was not well lighted.

User review by sunnydee53. I'm surprised by the other review left by a user. I've found the folks at Salt Lake Antiques always very down to earth and pleasent. Yes, they do have young help, but the girls are always willing to share what they know, and find out for me what they don't know. You can't beat their selection, especially if you are looking for furniture. My pieces come delivered to my home, perfect and beautiful. I couldn't be happier with my experiences at Salt Lake Antiques.

Don't leave an impertinent young adult in charge!. This place opened late. The young lady had absolutely no knowledge about the pieces, nor was she willing to help. Everything was a fixed price, which wasn't even in range. There was no discount for furniture which was broken, and she didn't have anything to offer. We found her stiff, cold, unprofessional, AND unknowledgeable about the pieces in the store.

If you can't find what you're looking for at this store, then it probably doesn't exist.. The Scene
The first thing that strikes you as you walk into Salt Lake Antiques is the sheer volume of merchandise crammed into a relatively small space. This has been accomplished using the building-block method of furniture arrangement. Knickknacks lie on chairs stacked on cabinets that rest on tables. Don't forget to look up--even the ceiling is put to good use. In one section of the store, you'll find a wide selection of chairs hanging from the ceiling.

The Goods
There's no way to substantiate this claim, but we're pretty sure the store carries everything ever manufactured in the history of mankind. It could literally take years to browse the aisles. At least most items are grouped together by category. Looking for a chandelier? Most of them are hanging in the same room.
