Back To The 70's!.
I just love places that bring me back to a simpler time. The upholstery, scintillating smell of a well seasoned bar, a juke box, and an everybody knows your name kind of clientele.
The Twilite reminded me of my dad's Elks Hall days where I would sneak in for "Shirley Temples."
Right next to the Salt Lake Police Department [SLPD], you can listen to some wild stories about the area with Salt Lakes Finest.
The owner is a scream! It's laid back and conveniently located. I love it.
I found a gem. I came upon this place while visiting SLC during the Outdoor Retailers Convention. Instantly I felt at home. Made conversation with a couple of the "regulars" sitting at the bar. Very Friendly young guy behind the bar. The juke box is FREE and is up to date with the latest music, as well as a lot of the classic rock. There are 2 pool tables. A photo booth to document all the fun times. I recommend this place to anybody searching for a hangout.
Not worth it!!. I was sooo looking forward to this place, but was extremely disappointed! Cash Only bar...Did not know! And the waitress whom i tipped VERY generously all night was very rude and short with my whole group of friends. Not a wide selection of drinks she could make and actually argued with one lady over what she was drinking...TWICE! We will not be returning! :(
No more smoke !. This is a great classic bar. A great neighborhood bar. 2 pool tables for only 50 cents. Free Pool on Wednesdays. Cocktails are only 3.75, and you can get a beer for a buck fifty. A great after work place to unwind. I highly recommend this loveable hangout
Great Times!. GREAT TIMES GREAT TIMES GREAT TIMES GREAT TIMES GREAT TIMES GREAT TIMES GREAT TIMES GREAT TIMES GREAT TIMES
Best Bar In Salt Lake City. Take a trip back to Salt Lake in the 70's. The "look" reminds me of the cabin i grew up in. The crowd reminds me of the cast of the big lebowski. A bunch of good ol' people that like to have a great time. The drinks are extremely cheap. Bring some cash. for the Free jukebox!
A classic dive for the masses, where students, professionals, housewives and barflies mix..
In Short
A retro-hip place for those who are into sitting around, drinking beer and playing pool. It's a loud, often smoky joint, with a large crowd of regulars lining the bar most nights. Despite its cavernous interior, Twilite fills up often, though it's usually possible to grab a seat in one of the large booths. Soup, salads and sandwiches are served during the day, and you can snack on chips at night. The required annual membership comes with coupons for beer, so don't fret over the price of admission.
I Love This Place. This is a good, old-fashioned smoky bar. They are cigar friendly as long as you are near the fireplace. There are "usuals" but they are all very friendly. You can get food supplied by the fast food place near-by. Like all bars in Utah, you need to join it; and you get a real cool membership card to show off to people who can't believe Utah even requires you to join. Air circulation is also good, so not a lot of 2nd-hand smoke. There are TVs in viewing distance most everywhere. The bartenders remember what you drink. I love this place.
Great for After Work. I work just up the street from the Twilight and really enjoy stopping in at the end of the day with friends for beers and cigars. I especially like taking guys from out of town. They really seem to get a kick out of going to a bar like this and dispelling their perception of Utah clubs. The bartenders and other patrons are always really friendly.
Dive bar = Good bar. Twilight is a great place to meet friends for an after wook drink. FREE juke box. The best bar tenders in SL.
