Good food, Great Price. I love this place because it is very low key but has good service and food. The gyros are great and most of the breakfast items I've tried have been quite good. Seating is quick and the restaurant is kid friendly.
One of my all time favorite restaurants.
I love them at breakfast: French toast sandwich. Or their lovely marinated chicken breakfast.
I love them at lunch and dinner: Chicken Kebab Meal, comes with soup (hopefully their lovely lemon chicken rice soup YUM) salad, main course and their AMAZING rice pudding.
Its a little crowded on Sunday mornings, but well worth the wait.
The waitresses are great! The food is very good, although if you eat anywhere long enough you'll run into an off day or two, but those off days are very few and far between.
Nothing says a nice comfortable, delicious meal like The Other Place.
Greatest Greek Food (Especially Gyros) I've Found ANYWHERE!!!. I have been eating at "The Other Place" since it was in the building on the corner next to "The Place" Bar (the building still stands and the bar is now Andy's I beleive). I moved away to the NW 14 years ago. I recently made a trip back to Ogden and went out of my way to visit Salt Lake to go to The Other Place. I have found no other Greek Resturant that can even compare to this one. I miss the atmosphere of the other building but I understand why it was moved. More people can now enjoy what is, in my opinion, the best greek food anywhere. The quality of the food is still top notch which seems rare when a resturant expands. I, for one, am certainly not sorry that I went out of my way and ate there again.
Price Increase. While The Other Place is still one of our favorite restaurants and the best place in SLC for Greek food, we are very disappointed they raised their prices -- substantially. It won't stop us from going but we won't be going as much.
super good food. i have been going to the Other Place for years, one of my favorite parts about going is seeing the same staff after all this time. every server goes out of his or her way to make you meal great. my neighbors are greek and i grew up eating greek food. when i went vegetarian one of the foods i missed most were gyros. the other place has GREAT vegetarian gyros availible, i get one every time i go. other places like yanni's dont even compare. not only that, but the food is cheap and the portions are massive. i wouldnt consider going anywhere else for my late night cravings.
One of our favorite spots to eat. If you want comfort food that is excellent, just the right portions, served by the most friendly people in Salt Lake, this is the place for you. We have been going to The Other Place for many years and while we live on the other end of the valley it is always worth the trip. We have never had a mediocre meal at The Other Place. Try the mezedakia -- it's truly the very best dish they serve. The veggies are always fresh and crisp, the seasonings just perfect, and their warm pita is delicious! Now if you go for breakfast you are in for another treat (although it is served all day). The hashbrowns are the best I have ever eaten -- this is not a greasy spoon. Everything is light and delicious. Don't miss out on going to The Other Place. You will not be disappointed. We PROMISE!
One of my favorites!. The Other Place offers a full array of what I like most....Greek food. Marinated steak and eggs are YUMMMMMY! We're going there in the morning (Sunday) and CAN'T WAIT!!
Yummy late night food. When I was vacationing in Utah, this was one of the restaurants citysearch recommended. The food was so yummy. At about $10 a person before tax and tip, the portions of food are very generous. Everything tastes made from scratch, and is very good. If you have leftovers, they are even good cold the next day. I wish I could find pancakes that tasty back home. This was one of the few places open Sunday nights. Check out the bathroom, they have neat towel dispensers. Parking and the entrance are in the back of the building.
A longtime late-night favorite for Salt Lake diners in search of hearty Greek food..
The crowd changes as the day turns into night--think happy and sociable people that appreciate a bit of gusto in their evenings. The staff and kitchen are efficient, and the atmosphere is clean and bright, with Formica tables and a homey feel.
You have to wonder how many orders of marinated steak and eggs have been served here--this is the kind of place that offers breakfast anytime. If you're not in the mood for pancakes or an omelet, the mezedakia platter offers an appetizing survey of Mediterranean tastes. Lamb dishes and pastas offer tender flavors and arrive with soup or salad, bread and baklava. Salads, burgers and hot sandwiches also beckon, and portions are generous. For dessert, try the fine rice pudding.
Best Place In Town. I go here every week with friends. The service is great and the meals are excellent. A+++!
