Lamb's is Utah's oldest continually operating restaurant. The restaurant has remained unchanged since 1939. The booths, tables, wainscot, back bar, counters, counter stools, light fixtures and steam table, which are still in use today, came from a restaurant previously located on Main Street, known as Gunn's Cafe. One notable exception, the chairs in the main dining room, were imported from Vienna by Mr. Lamb in the 1920's. The antiques which decorate the restaurant have been collected from around the world.

Editorial Review for Lamb's Grill Cafe – by Robyn Galbos

The Scene
The dining room has rich red colors, dark-wood wainscoting, chandeliers and antiques. Small intimate booths, white table linens and uniformed servers add to the atmosphere. Have a seat at the long counter or opt for a table.

The Food
For breakfast, there are several omelettes offered, as well as specialties like grilled red snapper and New York steak and eggs. It's also one of the few places around that you'll find steamed finnan haddie, a traditional Scottish breakfast dish made with haddock. Lunch and dinner favorites include the barbecued lamb shank and fresh grilled rainbow trout. There are also steamed frankfurters, grilled calf's liver and spaghetti with Lamb's meat sauce, in addition to several sandwiches, salads and daily specials. Save room for the famous rice pudding or decadent chocolate cake for dessert.

step back into the 30's. go there. the food is consisitantly good as is the service. the ambiance can't be beat. the only downside is you can't park on the street easily anymore due to trax.

Pros: ambiance, food, great service by an experienced team of waitresses from another age :)

Cons: lack of parking due to trax

We love the Lambs Grill... They have been here forever but unless you are a "regular" you don't know about the wonderful things they do! We try to get by as often as possible,(GREAT OMLETES) but so many of our friends have not been in. FIND THIS PLACE AND GIVE IT A TRY! Great food, super service and the place is "old time SLC"...
