The dinner menu is excellent. The Star
of India serves a wonderful selection of Tandoori dishes as well as curry and other favorites. The chicken tikka is especially tasty. They also have a range of flavored naan and a great traditional Indian Mulligatawny soup.
The restaurant itself is very colorful with a wide variety of Indian furnishing as well as full wall murals depicting India and various religious and cultural scenes. They also have a large screen showing movies and music videos. This would be great for a party or meeting.

If you like Indian Food, you must try
Star of India. Come for the Lunch Buffet. It's marvelous. Every day there are different choices, as well as regulars. Try the pumpkin. The manager and staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. The Bollywood movies are also fun.

Star of India is an original in Salt
Lake for Indian food.
The menu has all the standards and more that are just as tasty and good as you'd get in an actual home cooked Indian meal. The buffet is a good option if you want to try a few things at one time, but I usually get the same there: chicken tikka masala and I get it extra hot with my naan. It's good stuff!

Compared the other Indian food
restaurants in SLC this one is the most authentic. There is never a wait and the service is quick and to the point.

You'll find your tandoori chicken,
yellow curry chicken, and other dishes along with white and yellow rice and plain and friend na'an.
Yes, fried na'an for lunch. What could be better?
Definitely not no skimpy meal here at the Star of India for lunch time!
Note(s): Walkable from the Trax station at either Court House or City Library.

I have been going to Star of India for
over six years in both the old and new location and hold it as the gold standard against every other indian restaurant I go to in the US. The people are warm, knowledgeable, and eager to help. The Chana Masala is the best i've had in the world. Highly recommended.

I ordered the thali, and man it was
good. Good main dishes, roti, raita, sweets and the whole deal. Very clean and friendly environment. I think they have alot of iranian waitresses. But the food is extraordinary, i did not order the main menu items, as they were pricey and i had never been to this place. The thali which is like a small portion of alot of dishes was great and filing. HIGHLY recommend for value and food for the thali.

I'm convinced Indian food buffets are
what they serve in heaven. I can't imagine a better dining situation that 15 entrees to chose from, three different types of fried bread and a huge...
