Editorial Review for La-Cai Noodle House – by Robyn Galbos

The Scene
Once a Mexican take-out restaurant, La-Cai looks like an unlikely place for a noodle house. The exterior is a bit shabby, but the dining room is clean and service is friendly. Diners are in casual mode. An aquarium diverts your attention from the State Street traffic.

The Food
Stir-fry vegetables are fresh and crisp and the sauces are flavorful. For appetizers, try the pot stickers and the spring rolls. And if you like noodles, you've come to the right place. For entrees, the vermicelli rice noodle dishes are popular, and the stir-fry flat noodles are hearty and delicious. Or if you prefer to spice it up, try the sauteed lemon grass and chili chicken over steamed rice.

Im a very picky eater and away from home I was craving for something very asian. I fell in love with their egg rolls, a must when I go with Thai iced tea the perfect blend. Food are very tasty and hot when served. Price are reasonable with the big portion of meal that came with a good service. I guess they have remodel the place, very clean and nice environment. I was spoiled by this restaurant and I wont even try other. I hope all will enjoy the food as much as I do.

Pros: Best Vietnamese/Chinese food

Cons: Limited parking

Not much of a wait every time we go. SErvice is good. Food is great. The potstickers are terrific - the dough is not too thick and they seem fairly fresh. I almost always go for the Salt Baked Shrimp - like the rest of these reviewers - so good. Some of the "Chinese menu" options aren't amazing. I'm sure I ordered a chicken lo mein or something once that was barely average - not much flavor and pretty greasy, but I guess that's sort of standard for that dish....

Pros: Great food

Editor's Review

The exterior of this noodle house reveals its Mexican roots, but the authentic Asian cuisine proves looks can be deceiving.  See the full editorial review.
