The Scene – Once a Mexican take-out restaurant, La-Cai looks like an unlikely place for a noodle house. The exterior is a bit shabby, but the dining room is clean and service is friendly. Diners are in casual mode. An aquarium diverts your attention from the State Street traffic. – – The Food – Stir-fry vegetables are fresh and crisp and the sauces are flavorful. For appetizers, try the pot stickers and the spring rolls. And if you like noodles, you've come to the right place. For entrees, the vermicelli rice noodle dishes are popular, and the stir-fry flat noodles are…
Not Authentic at all!

I visited La Cai, because I love Pho and I heard it was pretty good. I sure was surprised to find that it was fake broth. It is not the bone broth that authentic pho is made from, the soup was weak and I have a sneaking suspicion that it might be instant mix, if it isn't then it's just terrible ingredients, I don't know what's worse. Also it didn't have the abundant meat and veggies that are given to you at other Pho restaurants, so for what your paying for it's not worth it. The spring rolls were also a disappointment, It's so hard to mess fresh spring rolls up, but they did it. I don't think anything in this place is authentic, and being asian myself I can tell. If you're not familiar with authentic asian cuisine, and you think panda express is good chinese, then you'd be pretty happy here. Anyone else that knows their food, this is a sure let down.
- Pros: Good service.
- Cons: Pho is terrible.
This is the best Asian cuisine in SLC.

I cant think of one thing I have ever tried there that I didnt like! If you like shrimp your in the right spot, they make the best. I love their soups and egg rolls too! Very clean nice place, not fancy but still a great place for a date. I have always thought their servers were great, they are around often enough that you are always taken care of yet they dont interrupt your meal/conversation too much.
- Pros: Clean, nice ambience, friendly unobtrusive service, GREAT FOOD
- Cons: I over-eat every time!

I've been wanting to try Vietnamese food for a long time and I finally did. Because of La-Cai Noodle I love it!! The Beef Noodle soup was delish and the egg rolls are so good. Always order egg rolls! I've gone back 3 times already and I always get something new. Never a disappointment.
I order to go and the wait is always less than 10 minutes. I love it!!
- Pros: Friendly staff
- Cons: None
