Get a clue, Broadway.
All I want is a good independent movie house in the SLC. But every time I go to the Broadway, either the film is damaged, the sound goes off in the middle of a scene, the lights mysteriously turn on in the middle of a movie or like tonight, the movie just breaks and doesn't even show.
Oh, and not only did I have to argue to get my money refunded when the movie didn't work and I was paying 12$ an hour for babysitting, but when I demanded to go see a different movie for free, the manager gave me a hard time. I hate this place and all I want to do is love it.
Excellent selection, great for students. The Broadway is an excellent theatre for students. Show your student id and get in for matinee prices. Parking is not an issue thanks to the validated parking. You can get pizza from the Pie, or, better, Kinder chocolates and first-rate popcorn. In addition, the Broadway shows films you are not likely to see elsewhere in SLC during their first-run. However, don't expect this theatre to have the latest digital sound system or reclining seats. It's not Jordan Commons, for the better and the worse.
love it. The people are very friendly that work there. Movies are also good, mostly independent movies. Never really to crowded.
Come for the blockbuster movies, which are often shown on two screens, and stay for the tasty concessions..
The Scene
Occupying the space where the once-historic Center Theatre used to be, Broadway Centre Cinemas bears little resemblance to that former movie palace, but it benefits from the same enviable uptown location.
The Draw
If you're looking for a first-run movie in its first weekend, this is the place to come. While home to high-quality films, the sixplex also gets a lot of releases that would make the Tower Theatre drool, and if a movie is nominated for an Oscar, it's a good bet that it played here during its Salt Lake City run. Special bonus: Big-budget blockbusters are often shown on two screens, increasing the likelihood of a Friday-night ticket. Bonus, part two: The concessions, including Haagen-Dazs bars, fruit drinks and outrageously expensive candy from the bins, are slightly better than the usual.
Very good. The Broadway offers movies that we really like. We've found that the movies don't stay for a long time, so see it when it comes out. Parking is good, at the ramp (validated) or street is good.
