Editorial Review for Ruth's Diner – by Robyn Galbos
In Short
Located in what once was a trolley car, it is named after its original tough-as-nails owner. Period lamps light the tables, while black-and-white photos of Ruth and her Chihuahuas decorate the walls. A large patio with live music on weekends makes the diner a favorite lunch and dinner spot. Casual diner fare is served in hearty proportions. Try the buttermilk pancakes or one of several omelettes for breakfast. For lunch, the burgers are popular. Or choose from a variety of sandwiches and enchiladas.

We drove down from Ogden, on a saturday got there 15 min before they opened, no one else was around till 5 min before opening the doors. First to be seated, and after 4 other tables were seated and waited on and the last table was waited on as soon as they sat down, and we are sitting there like ,they don't see us well we just got up and told the lady inside that we were leaving because we were not going to be treated like that. To bad too, the reviews were what brought us here and the place was cozy looking and I really wanted to try the food, to bad there was no service. Will not go back.

The atmosphere at this diner is just as charming as everyone says, However the food is so aweful it doesn't taste nearly as good as the plates they serve it on! (YUCK) I went with a group of 6 adults and we all ordered different things and all of us were equally revolted with our meals. First of all they cover all of their tasteless overcooked food with the most nasty sauses, they were so bad we couldn't even begin to choke them down. They bring these hard, dry, heavy rolls to your table that would be more suitable as a door stop than something you might actualy eat. They serve this horrible rasberry cream salid dressing that does not even remotely taste like raspberry. The pot-roast had some weird flavored sause on it that just made it compleatly inedible. The raspberry chicken (one of their specialties) was as dry as a bone and also had a revolting NON raspberry sause. The pork chop was just as dry as the chicken (also with a bizarre sause) You know when a resteraunt is hideing all of their food under sause that something is wrong! There was nothing good I could say about the food here. After this meal all of us wished we had just saved the money and eaten at mcdonalds...it was that bad! Such a shame... it could be a really charming place.
Pros: If you want to eat...Don't Go Here
Cons: The stuff they serve here is not edible!
